This was announced by university representatives at a press conference dedicated to the beginning of Russian research into bread announced by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Russian System of Quality.
Within a program to introduce postgraduates to the institutes of South Ural State University, future students of the Mechanical and Technological Faculty and the Faculty of Material Science and Metallurgical Technologies of the Polytechnic Institute went on an excursion to ChKPZ on July 18th and found out all the ins and outs of working in mechanical engineering and metallurgy.
On July 17th the results of the competitions The Beginning of Big Science 2017 and Scientific Potential 2017, held within project M 3.2.1. “Support young researchers and students with grants for scientific projects, including completion of internships in leading research organizations and universities” were announced.

SUSU representatives are off to Bishkek as part of an official delegation of the Chelyabinsk Region in Kyrgyzstan.
An official visit of a delegation from the government of the Chelyabinsk Region will be held July 19th-20th in Bishkek. On those days, in the capital of Kyrgyzstan, politicians, bureaucrats, workers of the academic and health industries, businessmen, and manufacturers will take part in the complex, international project – Chelyabinsk Region Days in Kyrgyzstan. The delegation in Bishkek will include members of the SUSU Office of International Affairs.
A design concept for a quick-charge device for electric vehicle named best by Renault and Nissan.
INNOPROM-2017 was marked by an important event for the SUSU Center of Computer Engineering – the design of a charging device for vehicles won an industrial design contest. The project by masters’ student of the Department of Design and Invention Roman Tkachev entitled “Device for quick-charge of electric vehicles with a power of 60 Kw” took first place in the nomination “Design of Environmental Equipment.”
South Ural State University was visited by Indian scientist Shirish Sonawane. He is the Director of the Laboratory of Synthesis and Analysis of Food Ingredients which was created in the frameworks of realizing strategic initiatives of the Project 5-100, implemented at the university.
SUSU students don’t only get their bronze summer tans laying on the white sands near the water, but also while working hard in practical training, like the students of the Faculty of History of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities, who have set off for an archaeological expedition to a site from the bronze age – burial mound #12 in the Kartalinskiy region.
One of the most important holidays for the Chelyabinsk Region, Metallurgist Day, is celebrated this year on July 16th. On the days leading up to this meaningful date, South Ural State University graduate, main metallurgist of SKB Turbina AO, Sergey Vertsyukh, told us about his career after graduating from South Ural State University.
– Why did you choose to be a metallurgist and study at SUSU?
The Olimp student sport and health center is broadening its borders. This summer, not only did Russian students from SUSU come to visit, but also visitors from abroad.
In 2017, Olimp was a place uniting people from various countries: Zimbabwe, Syria, Mexico, Venezuela, Columbia, and Iraq. Over a few days, the thirteen international students will live in the territory of the famous SUSU camp and speak Russian. According to the organizers, this format will allow folks from different countries more quickly adapt to the new conditions.
On July 10th, South Ural State University was visited by a delegation from the Heilongjiang Province (China) with the goal of being introduced to the manufacturing and research potential of the Chelyabinsk Region and create mutually beneficial contacts.
The guests held talks with the university rector Aleksandr Shestakov and vice-rector for international activity Viktor Katochkov, in which they expressed their desire for future partnership, especially in manufacturing.

Aleksey Gorozhankin, candidate of technical sciences, associate professor of the Electric Drive Department, won the competition Supporting Young Science last year, held at South Ural State University in 2016 as part of the 5-100 Project.
His work was dedicated to the research of electric drives for metallurgical manufacturing.
Electric drives for such a specific sphere of manufacturing as metallurgy are a unique project. They are characterized by the fact that each electric drive is, literally, a one-off product which is not mass-produced.
South Ural State University is sending students of the Institute of Architecture and Construction to the Czech Republic for practical training at the company Topolwater, which designs and manufactures equipment for cleaning waste water.
The company’s work is in partnership with the firm Kubicek, which manufactures air-blowing equipment necessary for the operation of their stations and also with the German firm Wilo, who makes pump equipment.
Today close cooperation with large Russian manufacturing companies plays a valuable role in the development of science. One example of successful cooperation is the Laboratory of Electronic Control Systems Covers Design within the Public Research Institute Test Mechanical Engineering of South Ural State University. The laboratory works successfully within one of the partner businesses in Chelyabinsk’s Metallurgic region and helps solve important industrial tasks. The laboratory is led by Danis Mukhamadeev.
A lecture series was held at SUSU, entitled “Subject-based QS ratings: the main stumbling blocks and ways to advance.”
In this seminar, the director of the QS ratings agency for eastern Europe and central Asia, Zoya Zaytseva, noted that our university has the potential to enter the global ratings and improve its position in subject-based ratings.
In her lecture, Zoya paid special attention to the importance of maintaining contact with graduates.
Not too long ago at South Ural State University an Industrial Engineering Division was opened, where future industrial engineers have the chance to learn, develop, and increase their qualifications. Working in many specialized programs, practical training on CNC lathes, and constantly improving one's skills enables students to become more competitive in the labor market.
