Well-known success of architectural education in the South Ural region: work by students of South Ural State University received first place in an international contest of 182 projects for a new residential complex in Milan. 21-23 April in Tyumen was held a regional stage of the Tournament Three Sciences – team contest between students of Universities of Russia according to the decision published in advance of scientific problems in physics, chemistry and biology, presenting solutions in the form of presentations and protect them during the debate on the Scientific battlefield.
The tournament brought together 9 teams from around the Ural Federal district of South Ural State University, Tyumen state University, Tummy, TIU, CSU, Yourhow.

This year more than 200 students from Turkmenistan, China, Mongolia, Iraq, Jordan, Laos, Egypt, Sri-Lanka, Yemen, Syria, Indonesia, etc. participated in Total Dictation. This is the record number in the country.
Participants performed test assignments based on the text of the dictation, whose author this year has become Leonid Yuzefovich. The most difficult was writing the text, and also the assignment for checking the degrees of comparison of adjectives. We should note that many international students have been studying Russian for less than a year.

Professor Jeff Sahadeo, Carleton University, visited SUSU to give an open lecture on the history of migration. We talked with him about his scientific interest in Russia, his planned field research in Troitsk, and the future of the SUSU Laboratory for Migration Studies.
– You head the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian studies at Carleton University and you are one of the most well-known researchers in the field of migration. Why do you focus your research on Russia, what’s the reason?
As is well known, last year engineering centers were founded at several universities by decision of the Russian Ministry of Science as a result of an open, public contest. All the winning projects from the contest were approved by the Strategic Development Program Until 2021. One of the winners of the project was the Center of Computer Engineering at South Ural State University.
