Leaders of the volunteer movement in the South Ural Region will begin preparations for working with guests of the SCO and BRICS summits at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
The results of the selection process among members of Russian student brigades for the right to participate in international construction projects were announced. Based on these results, 20 people were chosen to participate in construction. The Chelyabinsk Region will be represented by two people, says the Ministry of Education.
SUSU’s Association of International Students is an active venue for discussion of the problems of stay of foreign students in different groups: international students, Russian and international students, international students and the university’s administration, diplomatic representatives and public associations.
On May 10th a second round of Scientific Battles intellectual contest completed, where young scientists received an opportunity to tell about their research to big audience and to test themselves in a scientific competition. Each speaker presented his/her discovery in an unusual form, the main condition for the participants was the ban on electronic presentation of their inventions.
April turned to be packed with scientific conferences, and students of the Department of Russian and International History of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities snatched this opportunity. On May 14th at 15:00 the opening ceremony for the Ecology&Arts Exhibition will be held at the SUSU’s Arts Hall. Works by the artists presented at the university exhibition hall are united into exhibit blocks “Pristine Earth”, “Industrialization and Its Consequences”, and “The Earth of the Future”.
On May 20th an educational meeting on the basics of social project planning will be held in Chelyabinsk. The participants will learn about the assessment criteria of the grant competition organized by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, and will be guided through the paragraphs of the project map, as well as will be presented the possible formats of public defense, and will be offered consultations by experienced specialists regarding the thought up ideas.
Development of biomedical technologies is a global trend aiming at brining quality of human life and life expectancy to a new level. Biotechnologies and medicine are among the most in-demand and promising fields of higher education.
An opening ceremony for the Junior Academy of Linguistics and International Communication for Schoolchildren was held at South Ural State University, which successfully passed inspection by regulatory agencies in 192 fields of study and earned a Certificate of State Accreditation. The SUSU Institute of Linguistics and International Communication acted as the organizer.
On May 11th at 18:00 a lecture on Secrets of Vlog Creating by a young director and music videos maker Alina Pyazok will be held at the School of Business of the SUSU SEM.
Alina Pyazok is a graduate of SUSU, a director, and a creator of video clips for famous rap and rock performers, as well as a mastermind and producer of Little Big band.
Healthy lifestyle and development of physical culture and sports are the most important priorities at SUSU. The university has a shooting range available for all of those who wish to gain skills of shooting from small-caliber and sport weapons. It is one of the best in the Chelyabinsk Region, since the range allows for training on almost every kind of weapon. Founded in 1943, South Ural State University since its first days educated brilliant specialists whose projects found use on the front of the Great Patriotic War. And the university’s first professors were people who went through that war. Among them was Gennady Aleksandrovich Komissarov.
The history of South Ural State University remembers many brilliant scientists, whose contribution played a big role in its development. A special spot in this history is given to veterans of the Great Patriotic War who became the first lecturers of the university founded in 1943. Among them is Professor Aleksandr Vasilyevich Baev.
Every year there remain less and less veterans of the Great Patriotic War who performed their great heroic deed, but our university honours the memory of them. South Ural State University, established in 1943, evolved in many aspects namely thanks to the veterans. One of those people is Professor David Aronovich Gokhfeld, the founder of the SUSU’s Resistance of Materials Department.
Shortly before one of the main holidays in our country, the Great Victory Day, the annual Victory Waltz has been held, in which students and employees of South Ural State University took part. This dance flashmob dedicated to the 73rd Anniversary of the Great Victory was held for the fourth time already.
The guests and participants were greeted by the SUSU Rector Aleksandr Shestakov.
On April 27 – 28 of 2018 the Association of Russian Culture and Education of Alanya (Turkey) organized an International Science-to-practice Conference on Russian Emigration in Turkey in Early 20th Century: Gallipoli Stand. At the opening ceremony of the conference, also featuring a Russian Emigration in Turkey photo exhibition, speeches were delivered by the Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Turkey Aleksey Erkhov, and Rector of Alanya Hamdullah Emin Pasa University, Professor Mehmet Durdu Öner.

“How to stay healthy?” It is a topical issue for every person. Nowadays, leading specialists all around the world are searching for solutions which will allow maintaining and improving our health. This area of research is among the prioritized ones for South Ural State University.
The scientific battles for young researchers at SUSU will be held for the second time on May 10, 2018. The event is held with support from the Polytechnic Museum (Moscow) and the Public Chamber of the Chelyabinsk Oblast.
From 8th through 29th of May, lectures by Professor from Serbia, Zoran Cekić, are to be held at South Ural State University’s Department of Town Planning, Engineering Systems and Networks of the Institute of Architecture and Construction. General title of the lecture is Strategies of Construction Management.
May 7th is a special date, known in the world’s history of science and engineering as radio’s birth day. On this day in 1895, at the meeting of the Russian Physical and Chemical Society, Russian physicist Alexander Stepanovich Popov presented and demonstrated the world’s first radio-receiving set created by him, by holding the first radio communication session. Today this date is celebrated by all communications workers.
The 3rd All-Russian Student Accounting Olympiad in honour of Ya.V. Sokolov, in which students of the SUSU School of Economics and Management took part, was held at Saint-Petersburg State University of Economics.
Among the Olympiad’s participants were also Bachelor’s and Master’s students from Saint-Petersburg, Voronezh, Samara, Yekaterinburg, Petrozavodsk, and other cities of Russia.
The International Sun Day is celebrated each year at the beginning of May. The decision to establish this holiday was made in 1994 by the European branch of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES) in order to attract attention of the society to the possibilities of using the renewable energy sources.
On may 7, the square in front of the main building of the South Ural state University will have more than a hundred pairs in the "Victory Waltz". Flashmob is held for the fourth time and every year it becomes more and more large. Now the participants are working hard to rehearse and help them in this professional choreographers. One of them, Tatiana Mueller, told about why rehearsals are so important and what this project means to her.
