09.04.01 MSc in Internet of Things

Today we live in a world, where things around us are interconnected to bring additional benefits to our life. Such technologies as smart homes, smart cities, smart governance, and smart manufacturing rely on the capabilities delivered by the Internet of Things – a network of devices containing electronics, software, actuators, and connectivity which allows these things to connect, interact and exchange data.

MSc in Internet of Things offers students to learn about the key aspects of the Internet of Things technology, including:

  • IoT infrastructure (communication protocols, end-devices architectures, sensor devices, etc.);
  • methods of IoT data gathering and analysis;
  • usage of distributed systems, cloud and mobile technologies for the development of IoT applications for industry and home appliances;
  • how to implement cybersecurity for IoT end-devices.

Students will study the cutting-edge IoT solutions from the market leaders. The education and project work of the students is provided using the well-equipped lab facilities of the School of Electronic Engineering and Computer Science:

  • Samsung IoT Academy;
  • Emerson PlantWeb
  • Kaspersky Research and Education Centre
  • Smart Home Lab

The programme is designed for professionals with a basic knowledge of electronics or computer science. The graduates of this programme will be able to work as engineers, software developers, IT architects and team leaders in the companies that provide solutions in the IoT, including smart homes, smart cities, etc., IoT data analytics, computer networks, communications and embedded systems.
