A scientist from SUSU won a grant from the Russian Science Foundation to research the interaction between antibiotics and bacterial ribosomes in growing peptide-ribosome tunnel-antibiotic triads. Scientists plan to simulate the interaction between antibiotics and pathogen ribosomes. This research will help create new types of synthetic antibiotics for resistant bacterial strains.

Scientists from South Ural State University jointly with their colleagues from the USA, Greece and Russia have conducted a research and assessed the influence of stress hormones and liver enzymes on the anxiety level. Following the results of this work, an article has been published in a top-rated scientific journal International Journal of Molecular Sciences.

Scientists from South Ural State University have been working with colleagues from India, South Korea, and Malaysia to study the sources of microplastic environmental pollution and have proposed ways to solve this problem, including reducing the use of microplastic in production, improving ways to detect hazardous particles in water and the atmosphere and remove them. An international team of scientists from Russia and Austria have conducted a series of unique experiments to study the oxidative roasting of magnetite concentrate samples at different temperatures using the Rigaku Ultima IV high-temperature X-ray chamber. The new technology will reduce CO2 emissions by 40-60% by using hydrogen as a reducing agent. The Voestalpine plant (Austria) is pilot testing the technology.

Aigerim Ulan kyzy from Cholpon-Ata (the Kyrgyz Republic) chose to get her higher education in Russia and is now studying International Economics and Trade (in English) at South Ural State University.
