On October 11th and 12th, the 4th International Research and Practical Conference on University of the 21st Century in the System of Continuing Education was held at South Ural State University. The SUSU Institute of Supplementary Education acted as the organiser.
On October 10 and 11, secondary school students of the Sovetsky District of Chelyabinsk got acquainted with South Ural State University in the Palace of Culture named after D.V. Kolyushchenko.

On September 19, within a cooperation between BANK URALSIB PAO and the Department of Economic Security of SUSU (NRU), IKIGAI training in the format of a quest on the profession of Client Manager of Retail Business was held for students of the School of Economics and Management (SEM).
In the 2018–2019 academic year South Ural State University has introduced project-based learning — a new educational technology, which will take the training of specialists to an even higher level. The major university event took place on the last summer day when SUSU held a matriculation ceremony for freshers. The formal welcome was among a broad range of events organised by SUSU, including the senior staff’s presentations on the University’s recent achievements in education, research, and quality of life on campus.
South Ural State University is the regional venue for holding All-Russian Economic Dictation. The dictation is aimed at determining and enhancing the level of economic competence of population as a whole as well as its individual age and professional groups, developing intelligent potential of young people, assessing economic activity and economic competence of population of various constituents of the Russian Federation.
Topic of the dictation is “Strong Economy Means Prosperous Russia”.
South Ural State University has received a request from Mechel Group of Companies to create corporate training programs at the School of Economics and Management. Mechel is one of the world’s leading companies in mining and metallurgy, and it unites over 20 big production enterprises located in 11 regions of Russian and abroad.

On April 14th and 19th, the School of Economics and Management of South Ural State University presented its Master’s programs. The event was held in a new stand format and was attended both by SUSU graduates and graduates of other universities of Chelyabinsk.
Staff of the School of Economics and Management presented programs in economics, management, human resources, state and municipal management, finance and credit, state auditing, applied informatics, and business informatics.
In September, a unique-for-Chelyabinsk Laboratory of Simulation Learning entitled “Efficient Production” is planned to be opened on the grounds of South Ural State University’s School of Economics and Management. In the course of classes, students will master in practice the fundamentals of “lean production” concept in business management, which nowadays is the world’s mainstream of management.
