Field of study The program is aimed at training highly qualified and competitive specialists in the field of heat and gas supply systems, ventilation and air conditioning; research of energy-saving technologies in the reconstruction and construction of engineering systems of buildings; optimization of thermal and hydraulic modes of heating systems; experimental and theoretical study of the thermal and hydraulic characteristics of heat and mass transfer equipment; development of facilities and technologies for the application of unconventional energy sources in the systems of heat and gas supply, ventilation and air conditioning. Areas of professional activity: design, construction, operation and reconstruction of buildings and structures; engineering support and equipment of construction objects; conducting research and educational activities. Objects of professional activity: heat and gas supply, ventilation and air conditioning systems for industrial and civil buildings and facilities. Field of study This Master’s degree programme gives its graduates the opportunity to manage construction and design organisations, perform non-standard works in the field of building calculations, as well as apply their knowledge in research and teaching activities. Two years of full-time training (or 2.5 years part-time) will provide students with a wide range of knowledge in various in-demand fields of study. Master’s degree students will not only study all relevant disciplines, but also participate in the Department’s research work in more than 15 directions. For this purpose, the Department facilities are fitted with modern research equipment and software. Starting from 2018, Master’s degree students are trained in the form of project-based learning. Major: Philology, Creating, Analyzing and Expert Study of Texts Level: Master’s degree Duration of training: 2 years Mode of study: Full time Language of study: Russian Programme description: This programme aims at training specialists with skills in linguistic and sociocultural communication, ready for creative professional activities in scientific and pedagogical and research teams, in educational, cultural, management, mass media and other institutions that organize and regulate social and humanitarian activity. The workload of Master's degree students in Philology equals 16 academic hours of studying in classes every week. This programme is fulfilled using project-based learning, and also implies the creation of a virtual museum. Classes are held in the evening, and the schedule of consultations with academic advisors is flexible, so students can study alongside working. Graduates who have mastered this programme can professionally work with: languages (domestic and foreign languages) in their theoretical and practical aspects; literary fiction in its historical and theoretical aspects; different types of texts: written, oral, and virtual (including hypertext and textual elements of multimedia objects); written and oral communication. SUSU offers a unique multi-aspect education in Philology: Possibility to take a complete course in higher education in Philology at all levels: Bachelor's degree, Master's degree programmes, and postgraduate studies (with state-funded scholarships available at any level); Graduates have a right to work in schools; Using of digital methods of training. Students gain the experience of creating websites, and competences in the fields of project management, project organization and monitoring. That is why by the time they find a job, they have not only theoretical knowledge, but also skills of using that knowledge in practice in various fields: from teaching to legal services (linguistic examination). It prepares students to work in the fields, which require the management of human resources and social processes (municipal and government administration, business, public organisations and political parties), performing the activities on organisations management, interaction with HR services, and marketing and analytical subdivisions. In marketing and advertising agencies, sociologists determine the consumeroriented niches of goods and services, and develop the strategies of their promotion in the market. At enterprises, sociologists work together with PR services to interact with mass media, consumers and suppliers, general public and personnel. Sociologists can work at: municipal and government authorities; production and analytical services of enterprises; public opinion research centres; advertising and marketing agencies; educational institutions (teaching in institutions of secondary vocational and higher education), as well as in consulting companies. Student's practical training is held at the Sociology and Marketing Studies Teaching and Research Laboratory, equipped with modern personal computers, and world-class software and hardware based on SPSS, Vortex and designed for sociologists. Sociologists (specialists on fundamental and applied research in social sciences) are trained using project-based learning. Already during their training, students can conduct their own sociological or marketing research on a relevant topic, and develop and defend a startup project. In addition, students actively participate in implementation of various big research projects and in research grants of the Department. Major: History Level: Bachelor's degree  Duration of training: 4 years Mode of study: Full time Language of study: Russian Programme description: The goal of this programme is to train highly qualified and competitive specialists in the field of History and History teaching. The fields of professional activity: work in higher educational institutions, educational institutions of secondary vocational education, archives, museums, libraries, specialized academic institutes and other research institutes, expert-analytical and research centres, public and state organisations; in mass media (including electronic media), central and local authorities, in tourist and excursion organisations, and in business. Programme advantages: starting from the first year of studies, Bachelor’s degree students are engaged in the Department’s research activities through participation in conferences, seminars and research symposiums, as well as in research grants groups. We use an interdisciplinary approach to training and modern computer technologies, including working in the Moodle system. Students are provided with in-depth theoretical knowledge while learning their subjects, and obtain practical skills required for them to be competitive in the labour market. Having obtained their Bachelor’s degree, graduates can go into further study in Master’s degree programmes at SUSU or other universities, or apply for a job in educational or other institutions mentioned above. In the course of obtaining their education, students take several types of practical training in archaeology, archives and bibliography, museums, pedagogy, and major-specific digital training, including at research laboratories and researchand-education centres (Laboratory for Migration Studies, Laboratory for Oral History, Centre for Cultural Studies, Eurasian Studies Research and Education Centre).
