The VIII Open Academic Olympics for Belorussian and Russian Universities in mathematics (International Student Academic Olympics MathOpen 2017 Belarus) was held February 22-24 in Mogilev. Students and post-graduates from seven countries participated: Belarus, Iran, Poland, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and the Czech Republic. Russia was represented by students of the country’s leading universities including MSU and SPBU.
An international collective of 29 researchers formed at South Ural State University completed an international research project. The scientific book Principles of Civil Law and their Realization has been published.
The preparation for this work began in the spring of 2015, when the department of civil law and civil procedure of the SUSU Legal Institute became the space for the formation of an international group of researchers who decided to carry out some ambitious research.

A memorandum of mutual understanding was signed in Chelyabinsk between South Ural State University and the company SMS group – world leader in producing metallurgic equipment. SMS group has been working with SUSU for more than 5 years; students of the university complete internships at the subsidiary’s companies in Russia and Germany.
Test your mathematics knowledge in the annual Russian test “Quod Erat Demonstrandum”. The organizer is the company Yandex, and the venue will be South Ural State University.
Anyone who misses their math classes can participate. According to the regional representative of the Yandex company, Aleksandra Repyovaya, the ten exercises will be simple – basic knowledge from school programs will be enough to solve them. The teachers will give one hour to solve the exercises, then they’ll discuss them in detail and answer any questions.
A booth for South Ural State University was presented at the regional stage of one of the largest festivals in the world – RoboFest-2017. On these two days, the Palace of Pioneers and Students turned into an academic and entertaining space for robotics competition.
Aleksandr Kuznetsov, Chelyabinsk Region Minister of Education and Science, gave a speech before the participants. In his speech, he stressed the importance of developing engineering and robotics for our region and country, wished them success, and opened the competition.

The arsenal of equipment at the Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service’s Center of Sports Science at SUSU has considerably expanded. Outfitting the Center with devices like electromyographs, high-accuracy thermal imaging cameras, and 3D printers will allow for scientific investigation at a new level of quality.
