On February 28, 2016 at 11:00 the final stage of Multidisciplinary Engineering Olympiad ‘Star’ will be held. The event will take place at two locations: in the lobby of the Assembly Hall of the main building of SUSU (Lenin Ave., 76) and on the 2nd floor of the 2d building of the university (Lenin Ave., 85).
Multidisciplinary Engineering Olympiad ‘Star’ was founded in 2015 by the merger of 2 Olympiads: Multidisciplinary Engineering Olympiad ‘The Future of Russia’ and the Olympiad ‘Star - Talents on Defense and Security Service’. The main objective of the intellectual contest is to identify the most talented and gifted students who will make future engineering elite of the country.
The organizers of the Olympiad include the following: All-Russian Industrial Association of Employers ‘Russian Engineering Union’, Ministry of Education and Science of Chelyabinsk region, enterprises of defense and industrial complex, and Russian universities including South Ural State University.
The qualifying (school) round of the Olympiad took place in November and December 2015, and the intramural stage will be held in February-March 2016. Students will compete in the following areas:
- Aviation and Space-Rocket Technics,
- Natural Sciences (Physics, Mathematics)
- History,
- Technology and Machinery of Shipbuilding and Marine Transport,
- Mechanical Engineering,
- Social Studies,
- Law,
- Psychology,
- Russian Language,

- Technology and Machinery of Ground Transport,
- Economics,
- Electronics, Radio Engineering and Communication Systems
- Nuclear Energy and Technologies.
