Olga Konstantinovna Sharutina

Professor, Doctor of Chemical Science

Deputy Head of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Chemistry

Institute of Natural Sciences

SUSU

Prof Olga Konstantinovna Sharutina graduated from the Faculty of Chemistry, Gorky State University. In 2001, she received her doctoral degree in Chemical Sciences. In 2004, she gained her diploma the Higher Attestation Commission Professor. She’s been working at SUSU since 2012. Currently, Prof Sharutina is an Honored Worker of Higher Education of the Russian Federation. In 2003, she became the winner of IAP award in chemistry. She successfully combines research and teaching. Her main courses reflect her interests: Basic Principles of Chemistry, X-Ray Analysis, and Basic Principles of Crystal Chemistry. Prof Sharutina’s research results are used for organizing laboratory workshops on the basic principles of organoelement compounds in chemistry and the x-ray analysis.

Prof Sharutina specializes in the chemistry of organoelement compounds. She is interested in studying antimony and bismuth organic compounds and their structure and synthesis. Her research is a significant contribution to the development of organoelement compounds in chemistry. Currently, Prof Sharutina is working on extraction and structure determination of unusual polynuclear antimony and bismuth-containing complexes. Prof Sharutina has published more than 400 research papers and 3 monographs, one of which focuses on molecular structures of organic compounds of antimony.

Prof Sharutina has guided 9 PhD students for the doctorate. Porf Sharutina’s students made a significant contribution to the study of antimony and bismuth organic compounds. Over the past 3 years (2014-2016), Prof Sharutina has published 58 papers in WoS journals.

Prof Sharutina is known for her self-discipline. She spends her free time reading and doing sports (biking in summer and skiing in winter). She also loves traveling.
