Description of the educational programme

Fundamental and applied linguistics is one of the innovative areas of Bachelor's degree in Linguistics today.

In addition to studying two sought-after foreign languages (Chinese as the main and English as the second foreign language), you will study fundamental theoretical linguistic disciplines (general phonetics, morphology. syntax, semantics and lexicology, discourse, etc.) and an innovative applied cycle of disciplines on new information technologies (linguistic programming, general and computer lexicography, text processing and sounding speech technologies, information technologies in linguistics, etc.). Teaching in the field of Fundamental and Applied Linguistics is focused on in-depth study of the typology of languages, psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics, the basics of linguistic text examination, as well as on mastering a number of ancient languages (Latin, Old Slavonic, Old Russian).
