Description of the educational programme

Materials science is one of the most modern and sought discipline. The Master's Degree in Materials Science provides advanced education aimed at training specialists capable of solving complex tasks in the field of materials development, production and analysis. The Master's degree programme includes both theoretical and practical aspects, which allows graduates not only to understand the basic principles of materials science, but also to apply them in practice in various industries.

Professional competencies of the graduates:

  • to apply additive technologies such as the layered build–up and synthesis of an object using 3D computer technologies
  • to use nanotechnology: methods of production and application of artificially created objects of nanometer size (1 nm = 10-9 m)
  • to apply computer modeling of structure and composition – development of mathematical models defining the relationship "composition–technology–properties"
  • to use a system analysis of multifactorial impacts – a set of methods and tools used in the research and design of complex objects based on the use of computer technology
  • apply "green" technologies that allow replacing harmful industries with safe ones, protect the atmosphere, soil, fresh water and the oceans from pollution, eliminate toxic waste
  • to control a wide range of technological processes, both in production and in scientific, production and innovative enterprises
  • to select materials for the production of products, depending on the task assigned to the technologists
