New Master’s Programmes of SUSU Successfully the Pass Licensing Procedure

Every year South Ural State University opens new Master’s programmes both in engineering and in economics and humanities specialities. SUSU has obtained the license for the right to perform educational activity under 3 Master’s training programmes, which will be launched already in September of 2019.

The Federal Education and Science Supervision Service (Rosobrnadzor) ordered for a reissue of the SUSU’s license, based on which it has become possible to fulfil three Master’s programmes: Information Systems and Technologies; Materials Science and Materials Technology; and Linguistics. This means that students of SUSU and other educational organisations will be granted an opportunity to enrol in to these programmes already in the next academic year.

Head of the Quality Assurance Office Dmitry Kharitonov notes the importance of opening new Master’s programmes:

“Materials Science and Materials Technology is a unique Master’s programme, as there are no more than five such programmes in Russia. Master’s programme in Linguistics is of big importance for us since we claim to be a bilingual university. And at last, a similar in its academic level programme in Information Systems and Technologies creates additional potential for digital transformation in various production and social spheres. In general, the new Master’s programmes provide great opportunities for those enrolling in to our university, as thanks to these programmes students will have a chance to obtain education of higher level.”

Master’s programme in Information Systems and Technologies will be fulfilled by the Department of Information Technology in Economics of the School of Economics and Management. This programme graduates may be in demand in organisations of various profiles and levels: in governmental authorities, in industrial, commercial, transport-and-logistics, loan and insurance companies, and so on.

The Materials Science and Materials Technology programme will be launched at the Department of Materials Science, Physical and Chemical Properties of Materials of the SUSU Institute of Engineering and Technology. Engineering specialities are always in demand on the labour market, as the work at any industrial enterprise would not be possible without qualifies engineers. The new programme aims at training specialists who are capable of solving problems related to research, development and application of highly-efficient materials in various sectors of industry.

Training students under the Linguistics Master’s programme will be fulfilled at the Department of Linguistics and Translation Studies of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communications. The SUSU’s linguistics specialities are traditionally popular as here students are provided with good training in languages and after graduation get jobs in different companies both in Russia and abroad. This programme will allow the Bachelor’s students master additional competences in the field of foreign languages and broaden their possibilities for further professional growth.
