Центр социокультурной адаптации (ЦСА) занимается поддержкой иностранных студентов.
Главная задача центра — создание комфортных условий пребывания студентов как в университете, так и в общежитии. Центр занимается развитием в ЮУрГУ двуязычной среды: обучает сотрудников общежитий, библиотек и отдела кадров английскому языку.
Волонтеры ЦСА посещают курсы по межкультурной коммуникации, оказывают учебную и социально-бытовую поддержку иностранным студентам. Они с ребятами часто ездят на разные экскурсии, организуют совместные походы в парк, посещают вместе мероприятия, участвуют в конкурсах.
Еще одной программой, действующей в центре, является Разговорный клуб, где волонтеры со студентами из самых разных стран обсуждают актуальные темы на русском языке. Посетить Разговорный клуб может любой желающий, предварительно записавшись в группе Вконтакте.

The Center’s main task is to create comfortable conditions for students both at the University, and in dormitories. The Center develops bilingual environment at SUSU: teaches English to the employees of dormitories, libraries and the Human Resources Department.
The CSA volunteers attend courses on intercultural communication, and render education and social-and-domestic support to international students. Together they go on various excursions, organize walks in parks, take part in different events and contests.
Another program of our Center is the Conversation Club where volunteers discuss topical issues in Russian with students from various countries. Any those willing may come to our Conversation Club. All you need to do is sign for it beforehand at our Vkontakte web-page.
In a man’s life, modern chemistry plays a huge role. Success of many branches of human activity such as power engineering, metallurgy, mechanical engineering, light and food industry, etc. greatly depends on the condition and development of chemistry. Meanwhile in chemistry, there is still a lot of unclear and undiscovered. New areas of old science, new substances, new methods for their obtaining and research keep appearing constantly.
On October 10th “Nature of Freiberg and Nature of Chelyabinsk” photo exhibition opened at SUSU within the framework of the German modern culture festival “German Days”. The Festival organization is supported by the German Embassy in Moscow. This year’s Festival held in Chelyabinsk is devoted to ecological issues, and its slogan is “To city ecology via ecology of consciousness”.
SUSU is a unique university as on its ground situated the first student television and radio company, a radio which is broadcasted in the university’s elevators, the oldest student newspaper of the Urals, and even a full-scale convergent editorial office.

The first and so far the only in Russian television and radio company working via cable networks, on air and in the Internet. SUSU-TV performs the functions of practice television and radio for more efficient training of students from the Faculty of Journalism; it also produces and distributes television and radio programs, construct its own multifunctional television cable network, and broadcast its programs via Internet.

The practice radio studio opened on December 21 of 2005. It was another step in development of the SUSU-TV Television and Radio Company and the Department of Television and Radio Journalism (today it is the Mass Media Department). It was then that organization of the university’s radio broadcasting started.

Mass-circulation newspaper (Polytechnic Cadres, later Technolopis, SMART University now) has been publishing for more than 50 years. This so-called “chronicle” of the university consists of thousands of materials of the university’s lecturers and students, and the names of a number of past-time correspondents are today well-known not only in the Chelyabinsk region, but even beyond its boundaries.

Student life at SUSU is not just educational process, but also active leisure, unforgettable events, and, of course, creativity!
What do our students live up to? They take part in city, regional, all-Russian and international contests, conquer new places and soar to new heights.
Just imagine, at SUSU there are 23 performance groups, more than 24 sports clubs and a wide range of student organizations.
Development of students’ creative life is the responsibility of the Extracurricular Activity Department and the SUSU Art Center.
Each year the university organizes more than 200 events. Among them are well-known traditional contests Mister and Miss SUSU, whose contestants compete in beauty, intelligence and creativity. Members of KVN (Club of the Funny and Inventive People) teams even perform at the all-Russia level, and event poster of SUSU amazes by the variety of events.
Participation in different kind of events can bring you additional points in your portfolio of the TOP-500 ranking of the Rector. Therefore, you can increase your scholarship to a larger amount.
