Modern education is impossible to imagine without quality infrastructure that not only supports the learning process but also creates conditions for a fulfilling life, communication, and creative development. South Ural State University is among the institutions where the future of students begins today – with a unique inter-university campus being built in Chelyabinsk under the personal supervision of Governor Alexey Teksler. This is the university's eighth advantage – not just new buildings and dormitories, but an entire ecosystem where science, industry, and youth culture intertwine in a single space accessible to every student.
The project is being implemented in stages, and the first results are already tangible: the first phase of construction has been completed, with two dormitories now housing more than 300 students. Currently, dormitories for the second phase are under active construction, and in March 2025, permission was obtained for the construction of the third phase facilities – crucial for scientific development. This is where the Educational and Research Complex will be located, with research laboratories and educational classrooms working in close collaboration with industrial partners. Such integration allows students to become familiar with real production tasks, participate in applied research, and build career trajectories without waiting for graduation – all within the campus walls.
The scale of the project is impressive: the total area of all campus buildings will reach 114,000 square metres, with more than 40,000 square metres allocated to unique laboratories and research and education centres. The dormitory complex is designed for 3,400 places – meaning every student will be able to live in comfortable conditions, literally just a few steps from their places of study and research. But the main value of the campus lies in its partner network: 39 leading enterprises of the region have already joined the collaboration, and together with SUSU, 6 partner universities are working on creating the campus. This united effort, supported by the national project "Youth and Children," is turning the campus into a true talent hub where interdisciplinary projects are born and the intellectual elite of the future is shaped.
