SUSU Staff Participate in the Anniversary Young Scientists Congress

Our university's delegation includes: Anna Paterova, Senior Research Fellow of the Quantum Engineering of Light Laboratory; Ekaterinan Shchurova, senior lecturer at the Department of Automation Engineering; Alena Zykova, Senior Research Fellow of the Research and Innovation Services; Petr Lonzinger, Associate Professor of the Department of Power Stations, Grids, and Electric Power Systems; Aleksey Erpalov, Deputy Director of the Centre of Vibration Testing and Monitoring of the State of Structures; and Dmitriy Zhivulin, Head of the Electromechanical, Electronic and Electrochemical Systems Regional Youth Laboratory.

The leading researchers of our university will present their developments before the audience of their colleagues and will take part in the extensive business and scientific program of the congress. Anna Paterova will also present a "Practicum on Radiation Polarization Measurement" exhibit at the booth of Mega Grants of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia. It tells about the physical foundations of light polarization, various types of polarization (linear, circular, and elliptic polarization), and its conversion methods. The practical part is aimed at teaching the skills of measuring the degree and orientation of radiation polarization using polarization-optical instruments.

This forum traditionally gathers the leaders of Russian science, representatives of leading scientific schools, government authorities, representatives of industry, business and state corporations, and what is more important — talented young scientists not only from Russia, but from abroad as well. It is expected that the number of participants will equal more than seven thousand people from over 80 countries.

The Young Scientists Congress is held November 26th through 28th, and its program includes more than 170 events. The discussions are united by a common topic: "The Energy of Science: From the Potential of Knowledge to Creating the Future".
