Postgraduate Studies in the Russian Federation
The main task throughout the course of a postgraduate programme is to complete research under the guidance of a research advisor and to prepare and publish a dissertation prior to prepare for a Candidate of Sciences defence. In addition, over the period noted for each postgraduate programme, the postgraduate student studies 3 academic disciplines (history and philosophy of science, a foreign language, and a special discipline according to the chosen academic specialization) and takes 3 Candidate exams on those same disciplines.
Postgraduate programmes end with a preliminary dissertation defence. If the preliminary defence is completed successfully, the postgraduate student receives a postgraduate studies certification and a letter from the organization certifying that their completed dissertation meets the requirements of the State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles.
Candidate dissertation defences (earning the title of Candidate of Sciences/PhD) are held by the SUSU Dissertation Council (if a council for the student’s specialization exists at SUSU) or by an outside dissertation council.

На базе Южно-Уральского государственного университета ООО «Дистрибьюция74» совместно с кафедрой «Цифровая экономика и информационные технологии» был проведен отборочный региональный тур Олимпиады по программированию в «1С:Предприятие 8».
Участие принимали студенты кафедры «Цифровая экономика и информационные технологии» Высшей школы экономики и управления, кафедры «Математическое и компьютерное моделирование» Института естественных и точных наук.
Впервые олимпиада «Прометей» была проведена в 2010 году, а в 2022 получила статус Всероссийской. Согласно Приказу Министерства науки и высшего образования Российской Федерации от 12.09.2022 № 880 Олимпиада включена в перечень мероприятий для предоставления грантов лицам, поступившим на обучение в образовательные организации высшего образования, научные организации по программам магистратуры на 2023/2024 в учебном году.
В преддверии международного женского праздника мужчины Южно-Уральского университета поздравили студенток и сотрудниц вуза.
Под весеннюю музыку весь мужской состав ректората и Объединенного совета обучающихся дарили улыбки и цветы всем женщинам, вошедшим в главный университетский корпус ЮУрГУ.
