Secretary of the Russian Union of Artists in the Ural Federal District Programmes 07.03.03 Architectural Space Design (Architectural Engineering and Design) The fields of the bachelor’s professional activity are as follows:  urban object-space complex design (residential, public and industrial buildings); design of building interiors, engineering life support systems (layout and filling of urban open spaces, ecological equipment); computer modeling of architectural objects; organizational and communication activities. 54.03.01 Design (Graphic Design) The fields of the bachelor graphic designer’s professional activity are as follows: various types of printed and promotional products (books, magazines, booklets, banners, etc.); web design (websites, game interface, animation, etc.); visual and communication media (navigation system, corporate style, infographics, etc.); product design technology; research work. 54.04.01 Graphic Design The Masters of Design are prepared to work in the fields requiring deeper fundamental professional knowledge (project activity, technologies of copyrighted printed graphics, design of modern visual and information systems). Our graduates are specialists in the fields of constructions, architectural physics, building and decoration materials, engineering life support systems, computer modeling, and professional management. They are demanded by architectural workshops, design studios, and design institutes both in Russia and abroad. The spheres of our graduates’ professional activity are design of residential, public and industrial buildings; layout and in-filling of urban open spaces, interior and environment equipment. Department’s lecturers and students regularly participate in international, all-Russian and regional competitions and conferences on architecture and design. Later, in 2011 it started training the Bachelors of Architecture with Architectural Design specialization. Our graduates possess knowledge in the fields of residential, public and industrial building design; history and theory of architecture; composite and computer modeling; architectural management, modern building materials and constructions. Our graduates successfully work in architecture and town-planning management bodies and design companies. They are also invited to join in European, American and Australian companies. Their portfolios include the number of Chelyabinsk social facilities which enhance the architectural appearance of the city, including the reconstructed main building of the South Ural State University. The department’s professors are outstanding architects, doctors and Candidates in Architecture.

The Institute of Architecture and Construction combines the traditions of SUSU architecture and construction schools and an innovative approach towards teaching and research within the competitive environment of the Project 5-100 . Among the most important advantages of the Institute is the zone for elite training of students in which students with high ranking will undertake in-depth study of mathematical simulation of random processes, chemistry in construction, physical fundamentals of hydrodynamics, architectural and structural design, modern construction materials, and other professional disciplines. The Young Constructor School, where high school students obtain basic knowledge in the field of construction and can choose the career of an engineer at the young age, is established within the Institute. Also, the structure of the IAC includes a zone for additional education – the Center of Additional Education Services and the Scientific Training Center of Construction, which will be performing promotion and commercialization of research projects.
