SUSU Scientist Awarded an Honorary Title by Decree of the President of Russia

The badge of an Honoured Scientist of the Russian Federation has become another compelling reason for pride in the collection of awards of Nataliia Kundikova, Doctor of Sciences (Physics and Mathematics), Professor, Head of the Nonlinear Optics Laboratory of the Institute of Electrophysics of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Nataliia Kundikova heads the Department of Optoinformatics at the Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics of South Ural State University. She has been studying optical effects for more than thirty years now. The scientist has received a prestigious state award in the scientific field for her significant contribution to science at the Russian and international level.

"We don’t have many people at our university who have been awarded this honorary title. I think that this is a well-deserved award for Nataliia Kundikova," comments the Director of the SUSU Institute of Natural Sciences and Mathematics Alena Zamyshlyaeva. "She devoted her entire life to science and has awards at different levels. I think it’s wonderful that an employee, awarded the title of Honoured Scientist of the Russian Federation, works at our university and promotes scientific research."

The award ceremony took place at the Residence of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin in the Ural Region (Sevastyanov House). The awards were presented by the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region Evgeny Kuyvashev.

The honorary title of Honoured Scientist of the Russian Federation is awarded to outstanding scientists with a Doctor of Science degree for personal achievements in the development of priority areas of science and technology, the creation of scientific schools, the education and training of scientific personnel.
