The fifth edition of Worldwide Professional University Rankings RankPro 2017/2018 was published on the portal of the International Council of Scientists www.cicerobook.com.
As compared to the results of the previous year in 2018 South Ural State University climbed from position 573 up to 414 in the general world ranking, and from position 37 up to 12 in RankPro 2017/2018 ranking among Russian universities.
“SUSU has taken the 414th position in the general ranking, and the 201st position in Europe thanks to well-balanced academic component (415th position in the world as per this parameter),” comments the Head of the Rankings Promotion Department of the International Affairs Division Lyudmila Lapina.

RankPro ranking is issued every year by the International Council of Scientists. The Worldwide Professional University Rankings comprises three fields of university ranking:
- Academic rankings – academic possibilities of a university. The number and composition of students and faculty of the university are taken into account for it.
- Rankings by BC-Index – availability of information on the English version of the university’s home web-page. Here general information about the university (its description) is taken into account, as well as academic information, and communication possibilities.
- Public rankings (Reputation) –universities’ standings in global and national rankings are taken into account, as well as the results of expert polling of the members of the International Council of Scientists.
