The Brightest Summer: Festival of Color Held at Olimp

A Festival of Color was held on Thursday, July 20th at the SUSU student campground Olimp. The whole camp gathered at the beach to perform the song “Malo Polovin”, and then paint themselves with Holi dyes.

“Today the equator of the second group was held at Olimp, an event which is traditionally celebrated with special events. The main surprise of the day for participants was the spontaneous Festival of Color which we held on the beach at the camp. Before it began we made a big flash mob to the song “Malo Polovin” – all of the camp residents repeated the dance moves from the clip in sync and then threw holi dyes in the air. It was a big, impressive event. Videos, by the way, can already be found on social media,” says Valeriya Antonova, program director.

Right now the second group is at the camp. It was given the name “Time Platform X.” Throughout all of the days, the organizers try to deliver the idea that time is the most valuable thing we have in life to the visitors.

“The theme is reflected in everything – beginning from the shape of the houses to the words that the campers use when talking. By the way, especially for the beginning of this group we created a special lingo which says that the teams are “time-tims”, the staff headquarters – “time archive”, and the houses “time capsules,” explains Valeriya Zasova, head of the 2nd group.

Since it’s opened, the Olimp camp has earned the honor of being a great place for resting, healing, and making new friends among students.

“Despite the fact that from the very first day of my education, I have been part of the student activists for my School, I’m here at Olimp for the first time. I can say that my expectations were met and then some. Olimp is a place that brings together the most creative, original, and crazy (in a good way) people. Here every day is full of spontaneous flash mobs, comfortable meetings, and contests. I can state with confidence that with every hour I fell more in love with this legendary place,” said Yekaterina Zhukova, student of the SEM, about her impressions.

Besides the festival of colors, the equator was also noted by casting for the show “Bachelor”. More than a dozen contestants showed their mastery on stage to get to the next round. In the finale, the mysterious bachelor, whose name is not released, will choose only one.
