At the department there are courses in the following disciplines: Descriptive Geometry, Engineering and Computer Graphics, Computer and Geometric Modeling, Computer-Aided Design of Building Structures and others. All courses are provided with original methodological developments that allow students to develop spatial and logical thinking necessary for mastering other subjects. The modern educational and methodological course of the department is focused on the introduction of computer graphics into the educational process. Courses in classical disciplines are taught with the use of computer programs: AutoCAD, KOMPAS-3D, SolidWorks, Photoshop and others. Field of Professional Activity: Development of a course on the theoretical foundations of 3D computer geometric modeling, as an alternative to the classical educational course in descriptive geometry; Enhancing the study of graphic disciplines in English in the educational process; Development of methods for creating digital models of building constructions and structures, mechanic engineering products and instrument making; Research of algorithms for geometric computer modeling of new types of surfaces by increasing the dimension of the enveloping space; Development of methods for shaping lines and surfaces based on second-order curves in computer geometric modeling; Development and implementation of computational algorithms for modeling parametrically specified compound curves and surfaces based on the Russian software product "NanoCAD".
