Alternative energy saves the planet’s natural resources and is environmentally friendly. However,  the challenge is to develop extremely reliable plants that could continuously generate energy. Scientists of South Ural State University have found a way to achieve this using wind turbines and hydrogen. Improved wind power plants are more reliable, and the energy received with their help is easier to transport and store. They can operate under various climatic conditions, including in the Arctic.

On the 3rd and the 4th of October, VII International Science-to-Practice Conference on Life Safety in the Third Millennium took place at South Ural State University. The event was held on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Department of Life Safety.

The Conference on Life Safety in the Third Millennium is held once per three years. Every year, participants of the Conference discuss such issues as occupational safety and safety in the agro-industrial complex. Other topics of discussion included overall environmental safety, habitat and human health.
