Graduates have substantial knowledge of both the chemistry and engineering areas related to chemical production. Therefore, graduates are usually employed at a wide range of industrial enterprises both in the Chelyabinsk region and throughout Russia. No modern education is possible without knowledge of professional English. Therefore, in addition to a foreign language classes provided for under the Federal Standard, English language classes are also part of the program. This allows students to participate in the academic mobility program and study at a foreign university for a semester. Our students conduct research using the capabilities of the Nanotechnology Research and Education Centre. Thus the university maintains a worldwide level of research and the students present their scientific works at conferences abroad. Over 20 articles, submitted by students and postgraduates, are published annually in high-ranking publications. Our graduates have excellent career opportunities both in industry and in science.

Future employment: laboratories of scientific centers conducting research in the field of chemistry, biochemistry, geochemistry, petrochemistry, ecology, pharmacology; laboratories of chemical, food, metallurgical, pharmaceutical, petrochemical, mining and gas production industries; certification centers; expert forensic centers of the Department of Internal Affairs, the Federal Security Service; customs services; research organizations of the Russian Academy of Sciences; educational institutions. Directions of scientific research of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Chemistry: development of methods for the directed synthesis of organoelement compounds with significant properties; development of methods for multi-scale (from subatomic to macro-object) supercomputer modelling; creation of new heterocyclic systems - promising biologically active substances that are the basis of modern drug preparation; electrochemistry of metals, alloys and carbon materials. Students actively participate in scientific research, have joint scientific publications with teachers, and present their research at conferences in Russia and abroad. For the best student work they are awarded with diplomas, awards and prizes at various competitions and All-Russian conferences.

Graduates acquire fundamental knowledge of modern materials and components of electronic equipment, the physical principles of its work. Particular attention is paid to training in the field of digital and computer equipment, mathematical modelling, programming, design and production technology of electronic equipment. Training includes extensive laboratory training. Students gain skills in working with scientific and industrial equipment. The acquired knowledge and skills allow graduates to successfully engage in the development, production, maintenance and operation of electronic devices of any complexity - smart sensors and flow meters, modern medical equipment, research equipment and others. The resulting mathematical and computer training allows you to engage in the development, maintenance, operation and examination of computer control systems at industrial enterprises. Extensive training of graduates in a foreign language is the key to working in international companies; it allows thorough understanding of the technical documentation. The laboratories of the department are equipped with modern equipment necessary for holding workshops, working on term papers, writing theses and other scientific works. Theses are written on the subject of development of new electronic devices, the automation and computerization of production and technology, the solution of current scientific problems. Their results are often integrated into production processes and published in serious scientific journals. Future graduate occupations: specialist in electronics, electronics engineer, electrical technician, microelectronics engineer, circuit engineer.

03.03.01 Applied Mathematics and Physics

Solving the actual problems of modern physics, students learn to use specialized software for scientific calculations and gain invaluable skills to work on the most modern experimental equipment. Practical skills in the field of modern computer technology. For the first 3 years - theoretical training with practical work using computer simulation at educational experimental facilities. Starting from the 4th year - research work is built into the curriculum on the basis of the Institute of Electrophysics of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Physics Research Laboratory of the SUSU under the guidance of scientists with an international reputation. Students learn: mathematical disciplines: mathematical analysis, algebra, geometry, differential equations; special disciplines: continuum mechanics, mathematical models applied to continuum mechanics; computing disciplines: programming languages, algorithms and data structures, operating systems, modelling in Mathcad, MATLAB, etc., high-performance computing in supercomputer systems, computer graphics, the use of computer technology in continuum mechanics and etc. Future graduate occupations: mathematician, mathematical modelling specialist, physicist. Graduates have all the necessary knowledge to do large-scale research. Students who have graduated with a bachelor’s degree in this area can successfully enter the master’s program of Moscow State University, SUSU and other universities. The overwhelming majority of graduate students of the department of computational mechanics are employed at All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Technical Physics and Makeyev Rocket Design Bureau as junior research assistants with subsequent career growth to the position of a team leader in 3-5 years.
