Adaptation meetings for first-year students of the SUSU Institute of Law are traditionally held at the Nauka Recreation Camp on the first weekend of September.
During the first month, it is very important for freshmen to get to know each other better and build a friendly, close-knit team. As part of the two-day camp session, first-year students completed various tasks to get to know each other in an informal atmosphere. Heroes of legal science and practice, teaching staff of the SUSU Institute of Law, helped them.
On day one, the students did not have a single breather moment. After settling in, the students took part in an event by the SUSU Debates Club and demonstrated their knowledge in the "Jeopardy" intellectual game. After lunch, a quest, which helped to get acquainted with the territory of the Nauka recreation centre and the Olimp sports camp, was organised. The first-year students especially remembered the matriculation ceremony, which took place with lit candles in a mysterious setting. After the dance party and guitar concert, the first-year students were drained out, but they went to bed with a smile and feeling delight from the day spent.
Deputy Director for Academic Affairs of the Institute of Law Nataliia Tkacheva gave the welcome speech:
“Dear students, we were looking forward to meet you here. It is great to remember our student years in a pioneer camp. We are glad that you are here with us on this wonderful day, and that you are having fun. This meeting will help us get to know each other better and unite. Way to go!”
During day two, the program was also event-packed. At first, the freshmen had to interview the teachers. The questions were divided into three categories: about studying, judicial topics, and about personal life. Then, together with the teachers, the students took part in Zarnitsa 2.0 game, where they demonstrated their athletic and team skills. After lunch, the teams gathered together and presented the interviews they had taken, and then demonstrated their knowledge in a music quiz.
First-year student Alina Altayeva shared her impressions:
“I am very happy that I've joined this trip to the camp! It was interesting to get to know each other better. We united, learned a lot about each other. It's cool that there is such an opportunity. I think this will help us remain a friendly team.”
The closing ceremony wrapped up with awarding the student teams and the most active students.
