On February 22, a ceremonious meeting on the occasion of the defender of the Fatherland Day will be held at the Activity Hall of South Ural State University.

Defender of the Fatherland Day became the annual date when students and staff of SUSU hold an event as a tribute to the memory of defenders of our fatherland.

This year, the Rector of SUSU, Alexander Shestakov, will congratulate employees and attendees of the Faculty of Military Training, and will ceremonially award certificates and letters of appreciation.

With each year, the requirements to quality, reliability and functionality of products made of quality and specialized steel increase. Researchers from South Ural State University and specialists from the Laboratory of Special Metallurgy (Lasmet) are studying a new type of steel which can replace expensive analogs.

On February 19, the First Forum of the Federation of Russian and Arab Universities started its work in Beirut (Lebanon). The Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, Olga Vasilyeva, made a speech during the ceremonious opening of the Forum.

In her welcoming speech, the Minister emphasized that the Forum is an important event for development of educational and scientific cooperation between Russia and countries of the Arab world.
