ODE is an actively evolving part of SUSU, designed to form informational and educational environment within the University and integrate distance learning technology into all branches of the University. Within our institute we offer preparatory classes for Bachelors’ and Masters’ students in their particular fields of higher education, and we also offer continuing education programs (professional development and requalification). Accomplishments and activities of ODE include: Formation of system to prepare personnel to use distance-learning technology in the academic process; Creation of a directory of free courses on advanced training; Providing of technical support for students during online studying ; Offering methodical and technical support to professors in the creation of electronic academic resources; Hosting qualifying stages of online rounds of Olympiads among students and school pupils; Carrying out research in the field of distance learning methodology. In 2010 the Faculty of Management and Law was opened within ODE, in 2011 — the Laboratory of Distance Education, in 2013 we executed the modernization of the educational portal “SUSU Online 2.0”, and in 2015 we released the electronic journal “Pedagogical and Information Technology in Education”. Within the Faculty of Law and Management, we offer programs for professional higher education. In order to get a feel for what it is like to be a distance student, we recommend that you sign up for our demo course. You will see the principles of online education and become acquainted with the technologies we use. ODE is open to collaboration with any educational organization or institution in the following areas: Offering virtual open house days; Organizing and executing internet conferences; Live streaming and recording of science lectures by the leading University professors; Offering courses for advanced training in the e-learning field. Vice-Rector for Estates and Facilities Management

Vadim Trofimychev Vice-Rector for Estates and Facilities Management Address: South Ural State University Office 134, Main University Building 76, Prospect Lenina Tel.: +7 351 265 39 98, +7 351 94 10 E-mail: trofimychevva@susu.ru On September 3, 1964 Vadim Trofimychev was born in the city of Chelyabinsk. In 1986 graduated from the Faculty of Engineering and Construction of Chelyabinsk Polytechnic Institute with the specialty of Industrial and Civil Construction. In 1986 began working as an assistant at the Department of Metal and Wooden Constructions. In 1997 worked on the reconstruction of the project layout of the University’s building. In 1998 was appointed as a Head of the Department of Technical Supervision of SUSU. In 2000 was appointed as a Head of the Department for Overhaul. Since 2003 he has been working as a Vice-Rector for Estates and Facilities Management. During his work in SUSU and under his direction the reconstruction of the main building of the University with additional structure (broach spire), the construction of the buildings of chemical and physical faculties, the building No. 6, “Sigma” complex, the building No. 5 were implemented. With the participation of Vadim Trofimychev the infrastructure of the University with gas-burning boiler building, two power plants, central heat point, pump station, renewed electrical substations which allows generating heat and electrical energy and providing the University effectively with utilities. Under the direction of Vadim Trofimychev regular repairs of students’ residence halls are held, the halls of academic buildings are modernized, rooms in dormitories are reconstructed. The recreation center “Nauka” was turned into year-round use for recreation. Vadim Trofimychev is the authors of about 100 scientific reports and 12 scientific articles.

In 1990 she graduated from the All-Russian Distance Institute of Finance and Economics majoring in Accounting and Analysis of Economic Activities. Since 1983 she worked in Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant (Mechel OAO), since 1996 she worked as a chief accountant. Since 2005 she has been working at SUSU as a Vice-Rector for Economics and Finance. Within the analysis of financial and economic activities of the University Liudmila Boikova together with employees of other departments has developed proposals and recommendations for the use of financial, material, labour and other resources of SUSU; regular work on the improvement of mechanisms of financial and economic activities of the University based on development of local regulatory documents regarding economical and financial issues is conducted; new methods which improve efficiency of financial resources management taking into account economic performance of the University and its structural subdivisions are developed; Liudmila Boikova is a certified professional accountant. For hard and conscientious work she awarded Certificate of Merit of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, other sector and departmental awards.

Leonid Sokolinskiy Vice-Rector for Informatization D.Sc. In 1982 he graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics of Chelyabinsk State University. 1982-1985 – teacher of Mathematics and Informatics at school No. 31 of Chelyabinsk 1985-1987 – teaching assistant of the Department of Informatics and Computer Techniques of Chelyabinsk State University 1987-1990 – postgraduate student of the Mechanical and Technological Faculty of Leningrad State University In 1990 he defended the candidate’s thesis. From 1991 to 1992 he worked as a senior teacher of the Department of Informatics and Computer Techniques of Chelyabinsk State University. 1992-2004 – head of the Parallel Computing Laboratory at the Department of System Programming 1993-2004 – head of the Department of System Programming In 1994 an academic title of associate professor of the Department of Informatics and Computer Techniques was conferred. 2001-2004 – head of the Education Informatization Directorate of Chelyabinsk State University In 2003 he defended the doctoral thesis. Since 2004 he is a head of the Department of System Programming of South Ural State University. In 2006 an academic title of professor of the Department of System Programming was conferred. 2011 – Dean of the Faculty of Computational Mathematics and Informatics of SUSU. Since 2013 he is a Vice-Rector for Informatization of SUSU. He is a Presidium member of the Education Board for Applied Mathematics and Informatics. He is awarded with a medal named after V.P. Makeyev, certificates of honour from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation and the Chelyabinsk Region Governor. Leonid Sokolinsky is the author of different publications.

In 1975 he graduated from the Faculty of Instrument Design of Chelyabinsk Polytechnic Institute with the major in ‘Automatic Control Systems’ with honours. In 1975 he worked at the Department of Automatic Control Systems as a trainee tutor and lecturer, later – as a junior researcher. In 1981 he finished postgraduate studies at the Department of Automatic Control Systems prior to the scheduled date. Since 1983 he had been an assistant and since 1984 – an Associate Professor of the Department of Informational and Measuring Equipment. In 1993 he defended his doctoral thesis on the problem of information processing in the ground test and measurement systems for products of rocket and space engineering. An academic degree of a Doctor of Engineering Sciences was awarded. In 1994 he was elected head of the department of Informational and Measuring Equipment. Since 1996 he had been performing his duties as the Dean of the Faculty of Instrument Design. In 1999 he was appointed vice-rector for scientific work of SUSU. Since 2005 he has been performing his duties as the Rector of SUSU. Since 2008 he has been acting as the Member of the Legislative Assembly of Chelyabinsk region. In 2012 he was elected chairman of the Council of Rectors of the Ural Federal District. He has been awarded the medal ‘For Merit to the Fatherland’ of the II degree, the honorary title ‘Honored Worker of Higher Education of the Russian Federation’, and the medal of the Legislative Assembly of Chelyabinsk Region ‘For Merits in Law-Making Activities’. He has been also awarded medals named after academicians V.P. Makeyev, N.A. Pilyugina, and N.A. Semikhatova. Alexander Shestakov is the author of over 167 scientific works including 1 monograph, 5 teaching guides, 5 author certificates, 7 patents in the field of automatic control systems and informational and measuring systems, as well as for creation of ground test and measurement systems for products of rocket and space engineering. Under the leadership of Alexander Shestakov 9 Cand. Sc. and 2 doctoral dissertations have been defended. In 2022 Alexander Shestakov left his post as a Rector and was elected the President of the University.

21 января в конференц-зале корпуса «Сигма» состоялась видеотрансляция заключительного этапа Пятого онлайн-фестиваля дружбы «В мире русской литературы».

Финалистами этого яркого мероприятия, посвященного Году литературы в России, стали студенты, аспиранты и стажеры 32 вузов РФ. По итогам первого тура – конкурса сочинений, посвященных русскому языку и русской культуре, состоявшегося в ноябре в МГУ им. М. В. Ломоносова, – были отобраны победители, представившие свои коллективные творческие проекты в декабрьском втором туре.
