A switch is beginning at SUSU to a system of effective contracts. Before September 1st 2016, employees will sign work contracts which take the contributions of each member of the collective in achieving the university’s strategic goals into mind.
At the end of July 2016 the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities was released once more, published by the leading Spanish research group, Cybermetrics Lab. The rating measures how a particular university is represented in the global internet space. The number of Project 5-100 participating universities in the published ratings has increased once again. In July 2015, only 3 participating universities were in the top 100, in January 2016 - 4, and in July – 5. The best indicator was shown by the Higher School of Economics, taking 711th place.
The International Scientific Council is founded in SUSU. It consists of the world's leading scientists, who have a vast research experience in fundamental and computer sciences, engineering and medicine.

On June 20th, SUSU held the workshop ‘ABCs of Style, Grammar, and Structure of Research Publications’, organized by the SUSU Office of International Affairs and the Institute of International Education.

On June 6th – 8th, the 17th 5-100 Seminar and Conference was held at the Sechenov First Moscow State University of Medicine. More than 900 people from the 100 largest universities of Russia took part. SUSU was represented by a delegation headed by university rector, professor Aleksandr Shestakov.

Under the authority of the SUSU Office of Scientific and Innovative Activities, in attempts to attract student youth of the university to the 5-100 Project for Increasing Competitiveness, a contest for bachelors, masters, specialists and post-graduate students, “Your Start in Science” has begun. The best student scientific projects will receive financing.
In the beginning of 2016, the list of SUSU academics who are members of the editorial board of international journals gained one more name. The head of the Office of Scientific and Innovative Activities, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Aleksandr Dyakonov, joined the editorial board of the journal Russian Engineering Research.

The portal developed by the 5-100 Project Office is designed for attraction of foreign students to Russian universities. Possibly, for the first time in the history of higher education the most relevant and needed information about advantages of studying at the best Russian universities is posted on the website.
On March 29, SUSU Rector Alexander Shestakov met directors of schools, lyceums and gymnasiums of Chelyabinsk. Alexander Leonidovich told the heads of educational institutions about ongoing changes at the University as a result of its participation in the 5-100 Project. Special focus was on the position of SUSU in the hierarchy of Russian universities and international rankings and cooperation with schools, lyceums, gymnasiums, and colleges under new conditions of the University development.

Joanneum University is one of the oldest and largest Austria’s universities of applied sciences. Its main campus is situated in the popular student city of Graz. The other two campuses are located in Kapfenberg and Bad Gleichenberg.
