In the new, eighth edition of the Forbes ranking of the best Russian universities, Moscow universities traditionally dominate, holding 14 positions in the top twenty. Also, three universities from Saint Petersburg, one university from Tatarstan, one from the Novosibirsk Region and one from the Sverdlovsk Region have made it to the Top 20.
This year, SUSU has taken the 59th place out of 100 top higher education institutions in Russia, having bested a number of big federal universities, and has become the only representative of the Chelyabinsk Region in this prestigious ranking.
The Forbes ranking lists Russian universities with state accreditation that offer Bachelor’s degree or Specialist academic programmes and train no less than 400 students. The evaluation is performed against five criteria: networking, employer reputation, international recognition, academic environment, and the Forbes factor — the number of billionaires among the alumni.
