Education and Industry: SUSU Presents Report on the Robotics Centre at a Regional Conference

South Ural State University has participated in the "Industry Support Tools – 2026" regional conference, a key discussion platform for state and regional support measures for the industrial sector. The event has brought together representatives of government agencies, development institutions, industrial enterprises, and educational organizations interested in our region's technological development.

An important topic of the conference was the role of the education system in the sustainable development of our region's industry. Vitaly Litke, Minister of Education and Science of the Chelyabinsk Region, presented a report on the interaction between the Chelyabinsk Region enterprises and secondary vocational and higher education institutions in personnel training.

In his speech, Vitaly Litke emphasized that today human capital is a key resource for economic growth, and the value of qualified specialists is only increasing every year. According to the Minister, effective industrial development is impossible without the closest and most systematic interaction between businesses and all levels of education.

"We are working closely with all educational institutions and expect the companies themselves to be actively involved in this process. Our region has a graduate recruitment system that utilizes a range of tools, including professional championships, joint competitions with employers, and projects to promote blue-collar jobs. Particular attention is paid to supporting scientific and technological initiatives at leading universities in the Chelyabinsk Region. I would also like to highlight the inter-university campus—it will be a future hub for human potential and the training of highly qualified professionals," noted Vitaly Litke.

South Ural State University was represented by the SUSU First Vice-Rector, Vice-Rector for Research Anton Korzhov, Acting Director of the Industrial Robotics Development Centre Dmitry Shnaider, and Deputy Director of the Centre Artem Sagdakov.

In his report, Anton Korzhov detailed the activities of the Industrial Robotics Development Centre, which had opened at the university in 2025 and has already become an important growth point for industry in the South Ural region.

"SUSU has over 20 research and educational centres providing services to industrial enterprises in the Chelyabinsk Region and other regions of our country. In 2025, under the auspices of the federal Ministry of Industry and Trade, with the support of the Government of the Chelyabinsk Region and our industrial partner, the Chelyabinsk Forge-and-Press Plant, our university opened the Industrial Robotics Development Centre. Its key objective is to provide comprehensive services to industry and develop advanced scientific and technological solutions in automation, industrial robotics, and related fields. The Centre's team has the expertise to implement technically complex projects. Furthermore, a shared-use centre has been established at the university, the services of which are available to enterprises in our region," emphasized Anton Korzhov.

The Centre is actively involved in integrating industrial robotic systems into real-world production processes, developing new technological solutions, and training highly qualified engineering specialists. In addition, the Centre provides a full range of engineering and technical services for enterprises, from auditing and design to programming, commissioning, and service support for robotic systems.

South Ural State University is an active participant in industrial transformation, combining educational, scientific, and technological resources to benefit the development of our region and our country. The university-based Industrial Robotics Development Centre is open to collaboration with regional enterprises.

Up-to-date information about the Centre’s activities is available on the website and in the Telegram channel.
