South Ural State University offers its students a unique opportunity to participate in international summer schools.

Summer schools are an educational technology. The first such schools emerged in Russia more than fifty years ago. What do they teach there, and how an ordinary student can make it into one of them? The fascinating world of summer schools was described to us by Darya Sanochkina, employee of the International Mobility Office of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communication.

“The schools may be different (as per training field, age of participants, time frames, etc.), but there’s one thing that unites them all: particular interest of teachers and high motivation of students. Most of the summer schools’ courses are aiming at broadening one’s worldview, studying culture and language of a different country, as well as at creating joint international scientific project. The topics of summer schools as a rule supplement academic programs,” says Darya Sanochkina.

SUSU summer schools is both a possibility for SUSU students to go studying to a different country, and for students from universities of other countries to come to South Ural State University.

“To enroll into SUSU Summer School, student needs to apply to the International Mobility Office of the Institute of Linguistics and International Communication (Room 161 of the East Wing of the SUSU’s Main University Building) before May 15th. And you should have a passport with you,” explains Darya. “The Office’s employees will help you choose summer school and fill out an application.”
