Latest Achievements in Measuring Instruments Will Be Discussed at SUSU

International Applied Science Conference “Measurements: Status and Development Prospects” will be held at the major university of South Ural.

October 16th through 19th the world leading scientists will gather at South Ural State University in order to share information on the most promising research fields and on achievements in measuring equipment.

Professor, doctor of technical Sciences, rector of South-Ural state University, Chairman of the Council of rectors of the Ural Federal district, Honored worker of higher school Alexander Shestakov  will open the conference and the plenary session with a report a tOctober 17 at 10:00.

Reports on topics "Development of measurement models multivariate variables associated with the person" and "On the selection and application of the adjoint characteristics when assessing form and location of surfaces and axes of the working parts" will make the famous scientists in the field of world Metrology, head of laboratory of the Institute, member of Metrological Academy, a member of the Committee SM Roald Taimanov from St. Petersburg and Chairman of the Union of Metrologists in Bulgaria-doctor of technical Sciences, Hristo Radev.

The Central topic of the plenary session at October 18 of will be the report of the Professor of the University of Oxford Manus Patrick Henry (UK) on "Validation of dimensions for the Internet of things".

At this conference, which will be held for the second time, Russian and foreign scientists will report on the latest achievements in various sections of metrology and other fields of science and engineering related to measurements, and they will discuss the issues relevant to this scientific field. According to the organizers, the conference aims at demonstrating the efficiency of fundamental and applied research in solving practical tasks, including those on saving energy and resources. Also the University representatives promise that personal meetings and friendly atmosphere of informal communication of the conference participants will help make contacts and strengthen the existing ones between Russian scientists and their foreign colleagues.

SUSU Rector Alexander Shestakov stressed that the Chelyabinsk university acts as the organizer of this big event for a reason.

“South Ural State University prides itself on the many years’ experience in successfully training metrology specialists, as well as in developing, producing and applying measuring instruments. The fulfillment of our University’s education potential results in training qualified engineering staff for the leading enterprises of Russia and foreign countries. It is for a reason that a world leading company Emerson Corporation acts as SUSU’s strategic partner in developing a selection of measuring instruments,” Rector noted.

Conference Topic Sections:

  1. Metrological Assurance for Measuring Instruments and Measuring Systems;

  2. Methods and Algorithms of Measurement Information Processing;

  3. New Methods and Instruments of Measuring;

  4. Technical Diagnostics and Metrological Self-testing of Measuring Instruments and Actuating Devices;

  5. Dynamic Measurements;

  6. New Measuring Technologies in Industry.

We would also like to mention that the conference will be held in two languages – Russian and English.

The conference contributions will be published as the conference collected works (complete articles) displayed at digital library IEEE Xplore (publishing house of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). The publication is indexed at Scopus scientometric database. The contribution will also be distributed in an e-newsletter among the participants after the conference is closed.
