The Answer to the Challenges of Industry 4.0: a Presentation by the Center of Computer Engineering to be Held at SUSU

Today an important task for technological breakthrough stands before Russia. To meet the challenges of the industrial revolution, we must prepare a new age of engineers. Advanced training of engineers armed with the necessary skills in digital engineering is one of the key skills at SUSU, a Smart university bringing Europe and Asia together.

On September 20th, 2017, a presentation by the Center of Computer Engineering will be held at the university. The center was founded as part of the realization of a national plan in engineering and industrial design and offers engineering services to the largest industrial businesses in the region. At the CCE, targeted, advanced training is completed by future engineers, and import-substituting developments are being worked upon for automobile and transport engineering.

The international scientific conference “Modern Digital Technologies in Industry 4.0: Trends and Challenges” and panel discussions “Development and Introduction of Products in the Modern High-tech Market and Siemens NX Electronics”, “Simcenter 3D – a Platform for Completing Tasks for Engineering Analysis”, and “Managing Engineering Data with the Teamcenter PDM System” will be held as part of the presentation.

At the end of the conference, the researchers and mechanical engineers will take part in an opening ceremony for the Laboratory of Digital Engineering Technologies, created in partnership with the company Siemens PLM Software. Partnership with the world’s leading provider of software solutions and services in computer engineering is an important achievement.

According to the Vice-Rector of SUSU Strategic Development, scientific head of the CCE, Andrey Keller“Thanks to our cooperation with Siemens PLM Software, the university can complete scientific developments and teach the new era of engineers at a high professional level, which means being “on trend” for international engineering.”

Continuing this thought, the main instructor of the CCE, Sergey Taran, explains – “In the laboratory, which is equipped with high-performance software, students, postgraduates, and doctoral students will solve engineering tasks using industrial material. This will give us a chance to train staff based on the requirements of partner-companies, among which is the leader in manufacturing stands for processing bevel and spur gears, precision coordination and calculation centers for toothed gears and rotationally-symmetric parts, the Klingelnberg group, KAMAZ groups, and others.”

Representatives of the government of the Chelyabinsk Region, the Civic Chamber, and the legislative assembly will participate in the presentation of the Center of Computer Engineering. Also expected is the arrival of the general manager of Siemens PLM Software in Russia and the CIS, Viktor Bespalov, general director of the Center of project Management in Industry, Vladimir Pastukhov, and other key partners of the center.
