Psychology Festival on the Occasion of the University’s 75th Anniversary is to be Held at SUSU

On October 25, South Ural University is to organize a massive Psychology Festival, held on the occasion of the university’s 75th anniversary. The event organiser is the Faculty of Psychology of the SUSU Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities.

This day, the university will bring together outstanding alumni of all graduation years, starting from the very first graduation held back in 2001. They are going to share their working experience in the sphere of Psychology and related spheres with the present-time students.

“On such significant occasion as the university’s anniversary, it is usual to assess the results of one’s work. This Psychology Festival is to become the Faculty’s results summarizing of a kind. It will unite two traditional events: the Alumni Reunion and the Psychology Day for freshman students. Students will get a unique opportunity to learn about building a career from practicing specialists,” said Candidate of Sciences (Psychology), Associate Professor of the Department of Developmental Psychology and Age Related Counseling, Irina Shlyapnikova.

Depending on the alumni’s professional activity spheres, several roundtable discussions are to be organised. There future psychologists will be able to learn from specialists about nuances in family counseling, as well as about specificities of working in HR management offices of large companies, in centres for children’s development and other institutions.

Moreover, multiple master classes and “Questions and Answers” format meetings will be held within the Festival. The best alumni of the Faculty will share their experience. Many of them are presently working at the SUSU Faculty of Psychology and perform counseling activity.
