A Lecture by Town Planning Expert from the USA Jeffrey Soul Took Place at SUSU

A lecture by Jeffrey Soul, member of the American Planning Association, took place at South Ural State University. The town planning expert delivered a lecture for students of the SUSU Institute of Architecture and Construction.

The meeting became possible due to cooperation of South Ural State University with The U.S. Consulate General in Yekaterinburg, as noted the SUSU Vice-Rector for International Relations, Olga Yaroshenko.

Way to the New Image of the City: SUSU Digitalizes Chelyabinsk

The process of project-based learning in the sphere of Researching the Longevity of Concrete in Reinforced Concrete Structures under Repeated Exposure has successfully started at the Department of Building Materials and Products of the SUSU Institute of Architecture and Construction. There are six master’s degree students of specialisation 08.04.01 Construction involved in the project.

In November 2018, Tianjin Foreign Studies Universities has held the international scientific conference on Linguocultural Values in the Linguistic Consciousness and Communicative Practice. The delegation of SUSU linguists took part in this conference.

Scientific Schools of SUSU: Studying Stress Mechanisms at the International Level

South Ural State University is getting ready to celebrate its 75th Anniversary. Over these years more than one generation of scientists has been educated by the university scientific schools on humanities, engineering, and natural sciences. The scientific school of the SUSU School of Medical Biology conducting interdisciplinary research on the mechanisms of stress is among the recently established ones, but the school’s scientists have already managed to achieve results of international significance.

XI International Science-to-Practice Conference Entitled “KNAUF in the World’s Construction Complex” is to be Held at SUSU

On November 29 of 2018, XI International Science-to-Practice Conference entitled “KNAUF in the World’s Construction Complex” is to start at 10:00 at Sigma Academic Complex.

Operation of the XI International Science-to-Practice Conference will feature leading representatives of KNAUF GIPS International Company as well as students of the 2nd-4th years of study from the following Departments: Building Materials and Products; Construction Operations and Theory of Structures; Building Structure and Facilities; and Architecture.

Governor’s Scholarship Awarded to SUSU Activists

The annual Assembly of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Chelyabinsk Region was held on November 20th at Sergey Prokofiev Concert Hall.

Under guidance by the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region, Boris Dubrovsky, active young people of the South Ural region, including activists from South Ural State University, were honoured.

SUSU Department of Journalism and Mass Communication Participates in International Online Conference

The Online International Science-to-practice Conference on Journalism of Regions: Discourses and Media Practices was organised at the initiative of Tomsk State University. The Faculty of Journalism of South Ural State University was represented by Anvar Ismailov, Associate Professor of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Candidate of Sciences (Philosophy).

Olympiad on Economic Security Took Place at SUSU

On November 22-23, an all-Russian round of the Student Olympiad on Economic Security took place at South Ural State University (NRU).

School of Economics and Management of South Ural State University took the lead in All-Russian Student Olympiad on Economic Security.  

Director of School of Economics and Management of SUSU Irina Saveleva explained why the Olympiad is an important event for the students of economics field of study.

Russia.Study official website for selection of international students for studying in the Russian Federation announced the beginning of document admissions from foreign citizens and compatriots living abroad who are planning on getting enrolled at Russian universities, including quotas for studying free of charge, in 2019-2020.

“The House of Volunteers 2020” Resource Centre for Training of Volunteers is to be Opened at SUSU

On the occasion of the Volunteer Day which is to be celebrated in Russia on December 5, students of South Ural State University will receive a gift – opening of the House of Volunteer 2020 Resource Centre.

The project supposes establishment of a youth volunteer resource centre which provides informational, instructional and counseling assistance to the activities of volunteers during preparations for scaleous international events.

Within the project, a lecture room placing 100 people and a room with workplaces equipped with necessary equipment are to be created.

SUSU Once Again Hosts the International Youth Cooking Festival

The International Youth Cooking Festival has already become a good tradition at South Ural State University. For the twelfth time in a row SUSU will welcome those for whom cooking is something more than just making dishes. It is art that requires patience, meticulous work and creativity. A cooking festival is but another step closer to the goal for those who decided to build a career in cooking.

It is planned that the festival programme will comprise five sections:

Contemporary Science Film Festival to be Held at SUSU

The Science Film Days will be held at SUSU November 26th through November 30th as part of the Contemporary Science Film Festival (CSFF) supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. The goal of this event is to popularise research activity among students.

A constituent meeting of the regional branch of the Russian Professorial Assembly Russian Social Organisation was held at South Ural State University. This event became the beginning of a new stage of development for the academic and scientific societies of the Chelyabinsk Region.

Watching Movies Together! Project for International Students to Be Launched at SUSU

The Department of Russian as a Foreign Language jointly with the Centre for Sociocultural Adaptation and with support from the Association of International Students presents a new project called Watching Movies Together!

Every two weeks a movie will be announced, which then will be discussed at a movies club and in a dedicated chat. As a result of watching and discussing it is planned to give tasks on writing essays, drawing pictures, and on other forms of comprehending and interpreting of information.

An International Science-to-Practice Conference on Jurisprudence is to be Held at SUSU

On December 7 at 10.00 in the University Council Hall (room 1007 of the main academic building), plenary session of the 20th International Science-to-Practice Conference is to be opened in the frameworks of activities dedicated to the 75th anniversary of South Ural State University. Organiser of the Conference is SUSU’s Institute of Law.

SUSU Concluded Agreements with Shenyang Institute of Technology

South Ural State University was visited by delegation of three people from Shenyang Institute of Technology. Within several days, the delegates got introduced to possibilities of the university; as a result, two agreements were signed.

The goal of the visit was discussing further cooperation of the higher education institutions, as well as experience exchange and signing an agreement on opening a joint Laboratory of Food Technology and Biotechnology.

Chief Editor of MK-Ural Weekly Newspaper Holds a Masterclass for Students of the SUSU Faculty of Journalism

At South Ural State University a masterclass was held by the Chief Editor of Moskovsky Komsomolets – Ural newspaper Aleksandr Skripov, who shared his experience of working in mass media with the students of the Faculty of Journalism of the Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities.
