ISTS Students Took Part in an International Forum of Designers and Architects

ISTS students majoring in Technology of Artistic Processing of Materials took part in an International Forum of Designers and Architects.

The International Forum of Designers and Architects took place in Yekaterinburg in the frameworks of a large-scale project called FORUM RUSSIA. Students visited a lecture read by Igor Kurkin on National Identity in Design.

Igor Kurkin (Moscow, Russia) is a decorator, interior designer, object designer, member of the Union of Designers and Architects, and blogger. In 2018, Igor got included in a prestigious ranking called TOP 100 AD Russia. His major sphere of expertise is private residential interiors, HoReCa interiors: restaurants, hotels, shops, etc.

For students majoring in Technology of Artistic Processing of Materials, participation in such projects is an important part of their professional development.

Educational programme of the major of Technology of Artistic Processing of Materials teaches skills necessary for a modern designer while focusing on the ability to work with various materials. The programme includes artistic disciplines, basic training in the sphere of graphic design, and the disciplines covering the range of technologies used in interior design and textile industry. By working with interior, students master technologies and materials for room decoration and independently create art crafts made of glass, ceramic and fabric.

Within the lecture, Igor Kurkin told students about trends in interior decoration and shared his experience of visiting specialized exhibitions in Europe.
