Digital Industry 2018: Current State and Future Trends International Research Conference

On November 13th through 15th, International Scientific Conference entitled “Global Smart Industry 2018” is to be held at South Ural State University (SUSU). The Conference is being organised and held in cooperation with Emerson Corporation (USA) – the world’s leader in the sphere of digital industry (Schedule of the 2018 Global Smart Industry Conference). The purpose of the Conference is to discuss achievements of the world leaders in digital industry, leading universities and research-and-development centres in the sphere of development of innovative models, methods and technologies for Industry 4.0 as well as the experience of their implementation in large transnational and domestic industrial companies. Plenary reports at the Conference are going to be presented by leading specialists in the sphere of Industry 4.0 technologies from Russia, USA, China, France, Germany, Poland, Mexico, Portugal, Great Britain and Italy.

The Conference is to be opened with a report by the President of Emerson Corporation Michael Train, in which key examples of the impact of digital industry technology on production efficiency will be considered along with ideology of the digital industry.

The second day of the Conference is going to be dedicated to discussion of interaction of science and industry. Within industrial session, world’s leading companies in the sphere of implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies, such as Schneider Electric (France), SMS-Group (Germany), and MMK PAO (Russia) will present results of implementation of projects on production digitalisation, and respresentatives of leading research and education centres, such as National Engineering School of Saint-Étienne (France), Warsaw University of Technology (Poland) and South Ural State University (Chelyabinsk, Russia) will present results of research projects in the sphere of Industry 4.0, implemented in cooperation with their industrial partners. Also, on November 14, participants of the Conference will gather together for a roundtable discussion dedicated to the topic of efficient interaction between industrial enterprises, service companies and research-and-education institutions in order to solve problems of digital transformation.

Within scientific sections of the Conference, reports by leading scientists of Russia and the world are going to be presented in such spheres as information security and protection in industrial networks; big data, machine learning and artificial intelligence in Industry 4.0; new education technologies for Industry 4.0; wireless sensor networks and other digital industry technologies.

Concurrently with the Conference, an exhibition entitled “Digital Industry: Solutions and Technology”, organised under support of the Government of the Chelyabinsk region, is going to be held at SUSU’s main building. At the exhibition, leading enterprises of the South Ural will present their solutions regarding the industrial Internet of Things and industrial automation.

Information about SUSU

South Ural State University (National Research University) is the centre of educational, scientific, cultural and sport life of the South Ural. SUSU includes 9 Institutes, 3 Higher Schools, a Faculty of Military Education and a Faculty of Pre-University Education.
