SUSU Rector Congratulates Zhejiang Ocean University on Its 60th Anniversary

The delegation of South Ural State University headed by its Rector Aleksandr Shestakov paid a visit to Zhejiang Ocean University. As part of their visit the SUSU representatives took part in the International Forum of Rectors, as well as congratulated the partnering university on its 60th anniversary.

November 2nd through 4th at Zhejiang Ocean University (China) a forum of rectors was held, 2018’s International Ocean University Rectors’ Summit and Ocean Science & Engineering Technology Symposium, among the participants of which were University of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania), Maritime University of Szczecin (Poland), National Taiwan Ocean University (China), Zhejiang Ocean University, Svay Rieng University (Cambodia), Mean Chey University (Cambodia), and Shanghai Ocean University (China). Representatives of universities from such countries as Thailand, South Korea, Russia, etc. also took part in the forum.

Rector of South Ural State University Aleksandr Shestakov delivered a presentation on SUSU, a University of Digital Transformations, which described the university’s contribution into development of Industry 4.0. Moreover, within the frameworks of the visit Aleksandr Shestakov meet the SUSU students studying at Zhejiang Ocean University under the academic mobility programmes.

Also new collaboration agreements were signed: additional academic programmes will be created jointly by SUSU and Zhejiang Ocean University. Thus, starting from 2019 a Double Degree Programme will be launched for Bachelor’s speciality in Mechatronics and Robotics. Already today academic mobility programmes are being actively fulfilled with the partner university in: Electric Power Industry and Electrical Engineering; Construction; Ecology and Use of Natural Resources; Regional Studies; and others. SUSU actively expands the fields of academic collaboration with Zhejiang Ocean University: today the programmes of inclusive education and of double degrees are of special demand among Chinese and Russian students.
