The Most Creative Group of Freshman Students Chosen at the Institute of Architecture and Construction

The Institute of Architecture and Construction held a contest called “Autumn Mood” among freshman students. Future designers and architects had to present their group in a creative format within a limited time.

Students presented a gallery of famous pictorial artworks in their own interpretation. Jury and the audience duly evaluated The Last Day of Pompeii, Burlaki on the Volga, Opyat Dvoyka and other artworks. In order to express the mood of the paintings, students used various forms: dancing, pantomime, STEM (Student Theatre of Pop Sketches), art of declamation, short videos, and corresponding background music.

“In their performance, students brought up different topics. The upcoming course projects and examination session were mentioned practically in all of the performances. And of course, there were traditional jokes about scholarships and living in a dormitory,” noted organisers.

Performance of each group was awarded with a certificate of various categories. When determining the best, the jury allocated rewards as follows:

  • 1st place – group АS-141 (majoring in Graphic Design);
  • 2nd place – АS-161 (majoring in Construction);
  • 3rd place – АS-122 (elite training group majoring in Construction).

The winner, prize holders and organisers of the contest received memorable gifts from the Institute’s Directorate and the contest’s partners.
