Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of SUSU Took Part in the Opening of the First Cosmonauts Alley

On September 27, Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of Institute of Engineering and Technology of SUSU took part in the opening ceremony of the first stage of Park of National Achievements and Victories – the First Cosmonauts Alley. Cosmonauts Alley is the first object of the memorial site, which glorifies the representatives of the Chelyabinsk Region and the Yetkulsky District. 

The initiators and builders of the Alley, delegations of Military Aviation Institute of Navigators and rural settlements attended the opening ceremony. In addition to congratulations and awards, arms salute and space songs, 24 spruces were planted. Guests, honorary citizens of the district, representatives of the national economy, the public organization “Yetkul - the territory of youth”, schoolchildren and pupils of Rostok center took part in planting the trees.

Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of South Ural State University was awarded a diploma of significant contribution to the preparation of aviation and cosmic engineers, signed by First Deputy Head of Yu. A. Gagarin Research and Test Cosmonaut Training Center, pilot-cosmonaut of the RF Yury Malenchenko.

“The faculty contributes to the development of the rocket and space industry, providing specialized enterprises with design engineers. Graduates work at the enterprises of the ROSCOSMOS Corporation, at the Vostochny Cosmodrome. Among graduates, there are general designers, chief engineers, and even a test cosmonaut. Russia's victories depend on ourselves, and the younger generation should know and remember the achievements of the past years,” told Deputy Dean of Faculty of Aerospace Engineering of SUSU Ekaterina Zarnitsyna.  

Faculty of Aerospace Engineering expresses particular gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the opening of the Alley to Chairman of the Council of Deputies of the Yetkulsky Municipal District, Igor Mikhailov.
