Prom-Engineering International Conference Being Held at SUSU

On May 15th, the opening of the annual Prom-Engineering International Scientific and Technical Conference dedicated to discussion of modern achievements in industrial engineering was held at three venues simultaneously: SUSU, Moscow Polytechnic Institute, and Platov South Russian State Polytechnic University (Novocherkassk). The event will last until May 18, 2018.

In 2018 Moscow Polytechnic University became the main venue for Prom-Engineering International Scientific and Technical Conference. The conference will be held simultaneously at two other locations, South Ural State University and the Platov South Russian State Polytechnic University. During all 4 days of the conference the participants will have a chance to remotely communicate online. In the course of the jointly organized sections speakers from each location will be by turns delivering their presentations. In addition, online broadcasting of the event’s sections is planned. Anyone from anywhere around the world can become an audience member of the conference.

Aleksandr Shestakov, Rector of South Ural State University, delivered a welcome speech:

“At a meeting of the Council of Rectors President Vladimir Putin spoke about the necessity of a breakthrough in serious engineering research and developments for the growth and self-sustainability of our country. So, the Prom-Engineering conference is very important in terms of the goals which have been set for our country. I am glad that a large number of participants have gathered here with presentations on various topics. I’m sure that our conference will support the development of engineering in Russia as a whole.”

SUSU Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs Andrey Radionov noted that this year researchers from around 79 Russian cities and 14 countries are participating in the conference, including Germany, Spain, Canada, China, the USA, and more. The goal of the conference is to exchange information among researchers on the most promising fields of research and achievements in industrial engineering. Presentations will be delivered in three fields: Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Industrial Manufacturing Technologies, and Systems of Control and Automation of Production Processes.

Sergey Gandzha, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the SUSU Polytechnic Institute:

“Every year the number of participants of this conference grows, and the level grows, too. Of course, I am most interested in the presentations on electrical engineering. I want to note that there are noticeable tendencies in electrical engineering related to the international trend of digital manufacturing. The Prom-Engineering conference will allow us to create relationships with researchers of other universities, since modern research tasks require cooperation.”

The papers presented at Prom-Engineering conference will be published in an issue of the peer-reviewed journals Solid State Phenomena (published by Trans Tech Publications Ltd.) or Lecture Notes in Mechanical Engineering (published by Springer International Publishing AG), or as a collection of papers to be published in IEEE Xplore digital library (published by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers). All three publications are indexed in the Scopus database.
