On April 27th Kaspersky Security Day Conference will be held at South Ural State University. Kaspersky Laboratory and IT Distributsiya Company (regional partner of Kaspersky Laboratory) act as the conference organizers. The conference aims at discussing the technologies of information protection and the possibilities of using them to prevent negative consequences of cyber attacks on information systems controlling technological processes at modern industrial enterprises.
Conference program:
- Speeches by the Kaspersky Laboratory experts on modern cyber threats and the issues of ensuring information security of Computer-Aided Process Control Systems;
- Demonstration of consequences of attacks on Computer-Aided Process Control Systems, and of the possibilities of JSC Kaspersky Laboratory products on preventing them;
- Strategic business game Kaspersky Interactive Protection Simulation (KIPS), aimed at simulating processes of controlling information security of a power plant’s Computer-Aided Process Control System.
For participation in this conference, the organizers invite leading employees of regional industrial and production enterprises; heads and specialists of subdivisions responsible for information security assurance; heads and specialists of services dealing with development, implementation and operation of information technologies; leading engineers handling the operation of Computer-Aided Process Control Systems.
In the course of KIPS business game the participants will be offered to simulate a process of controlling information security at a power plant by choosing the best measures of proactive and reactive protection. Each counteraction taken by a participating team as a response to occurring events will define further play out of scenario, and must eventually ensure fail-safe operation of the power plant.
Meanwhile, in the mode of realistic attacks the teams will have to find balance between the priorities of the technological process and security. The participants will have to analyze data and make strategic decisions in the context of incomplete information and limited resources. Thus, a close-to-real situation is simulated: each scenario features events which can happen in real life.
The conference will be held at the university Sigma complex on April 27, 2018, starting at 9:00.
