Summer School in Freiberg: Students are Told about Internship Abroad

A meeting of the Chairman of the Student Community of the city of Freiberg (Germany), Thomas Schmaltz, with students of Chelyabinsk universities was held at South Ural State University.

SUSU students have the unique possibility to take part in summer language school in Germany. The school is organized on the grounds of the Freiberg Mining Academy, one of the most well-known higher education institutions of the Federal Republic of Germany.

The Chairman of the Student Community of the city of Freiberg, Thomas Schmaltz, talked about opportunities and conditions for students’ education in Germany and about student exchange principles.

“We have been conducting (student) exchange between universities for 12 years already. I am very pleased to come to Chelyabinsk once again and get the opportunity to talk about our summer school in Freiberg. The exchange is intended for Russian students to get submerged into German culture, to learn German language and to better understand German people and their culture. After Russian students go to Germany in July, German students will come to Chelyabinsk at the end of August for studying Russian culture.”

The program of summer language school in Freiberg offers a series of interesting and various events for students.

A second-year student of South Ural State Humanitarian Pedagogical University, Elena Ilyina, got interested in summer school in Freiberg. The student has been studying German language for half a year and she thinks that practicing the language with German students will help her not just improving the level of her knowledge but also get positive emotions.

“I got very interested in summer schools that are held abroad. I was in Germany for several times, visited Freiberg, and I liked the city very much. When I found out that there is the opportunity to go there to study the language, I decided that I must go. I have never had such experience before, but I hope to like it because I am expecting to meet new friends and get a lot of joyful emotions.”

At the end of the meeting, the students who want to visit the summer school in Germany had the opportunity to ask the Chairman of the Student Community of the city of Freiberg, Thomas Schmaltz, all questions of interest and submit an application for participation in the program.
