SUSU Institute of Law Expands International Collaboration

 

On October 19th and 20th 2017 a first meeting of the scientists of the Institute of Law of South Ural State University and the Law Faculty of Kostanay State University A. Baitursynov was held on the KSU territory (Republic of Kazakhstan).

The SUSU Institute of Law’s delegation was represented by the Head of the Department of Criminal Procedures, Criminal Science and Forensic Enquiry Svetlana Darovskikh, the Head of the Department of Civil Law and Civil Legal Procedures Galina Demidova, the Head of the Department of the Theory of Government and Law, Constitutional and Administrative Law Elena Titova and the Head of the Department of Labour and Social Law and Legal Studies Galiya Shafikova.

It is worth noting that the mentioned meeting was preceded and facilitated by a Collaboration Agreement signed by the rectors of the two universities – SUSU and KGU.

On October 19th the SUSU scientists’ delegation was welcomed by the KGU Rector Khussain Valiyev. He described the tasks set by one of the major universities in the Republic of Kazakhstan (it occupies the 3rd-4th place in the Kazakhstan university ranking), including research studies and developments carried out at a global-quality level by the Master Degree students and postdoctoral students under 58 specialities, Law being one of them.

At a round table devoted to “Methodology of Scientific Research” the issues of collaboration were discussed, and an Agreement on scientific collaboration was signed between the KGU Law Faculty, represented by the Faculty Dean Batyrkhan Turlubekov, and the Institute of Law represented (on behalf of the Institute’s Director Alexander Klassen) by the Manager for the Institute’s International Cooperation, Associate Professor Adis Shafikov.

For the first time the scientists of the 2 universities decided on the possibility of scientific advisory work for thesis research performed by the allied departments.
