As part of a partnership with Magnitogorsk Metallurgical Factory PAO, staff of the Department of Ecology and Chemical Technologies and the Office of Scientific and Innovative Affairs participated in a technical conference entitled Issues of Ecological Safety for Companies of the Mining and Smelting Complex and Monocities.

The university staff gave a presentation entitled “The use of new TiO2/SiO2 photocatalysts to clean carbolic acid and its derivatives from technical and waste water”.

Leaders and specialists of metallurgical companies, research, design, and academic institutions, and designers and builders of equipment for ecological safety from Magnitogorsk, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Ufa, Perm, and other Russian cities, as well as countries of the CIS and abroad participated in the conference.

TiO2/SiO2 photocatalysts were developed in the Faculty of Chemistry of the Institute of Natural Sciences and the novelty of this development is verified by a Russian patent and three publications in Q1 journals.

At this time, the creators are working on commercializing their developments.
