Open Lectures by International Researchers held at SUSU

 

On June 13th some of the world’s leading researchers held lectures at SUSU as part of the second day of a meeting by the International Research Council. The notable guests shared their knowledge with students of the university’s schools and institutes over a few hours.

Professor of the University of Cyprus, doctor Panayiotis Koutentis dedicated his lecture to the promising areas of development for chemistry. Professor of the University of Leiden, doctor Ron de Kloet, talked about the psychoneuroendocrinology of stress. Doctor Jaewan Kim, professor of the KIAS university (South Korea), helped future IT-specialists dive into the world of quantum information. Finally, professor of the University of Melbourne, doctor Ashokkumar Muthupandian gave a lecture on the foundations and means of using ultrasonic processing in the process of making food products and functional materials. The lecture by president of the Emerson Corporation, Edward Monser, was of great interest. It was dedicated to the industrial Internet of Things and the fourth industrial revolution.

After speaking with their young colleagues, the international guests visited the museum Peoples and Technologies of the South Ural region, whose exhibitions were of great interest to the researchers and left strong impressions.
