Russian Youth Contest for Technical Projects “Youth Orbit” 2017

 

The state corporation ROSKOSMOS is announcing an open call for applications for the Russian Youth Contest for technical projects “Youth Orbit” 2017. The deadline for submitting contest projects has been extended until June 15th, 2017. The terms and conditions for participating in the contest are posted here. The in-person stage of the contest will be held in Tomsk from September 25th through 29th, 2017. The main goal of holding this contest is to identify and attract young researchers and specialists into the aerospace field, searching for and selecting potential innovative projects, and forming creative ties between young specialists and aerospace organizations.

 

The following are accepted for the contest:

  • Scientific projects with results from research and developments;
  • Design and methodological developments;
  • Experimental work;
  • Work for creating and implementing progressive technological processes and materials into manufacturing, improving methods of managing and organizing developments.

The conditions for participating and terms for submitting applications are defined in the Rules on the Russian youth contest for technical projects “Youth Orbit” (documents are available in the section research contest.).

Projects are accepted for the contest through an application form in a personal cabinet on the site.

Contest topics:

  1. Fundamental cosmic research and design of missions for mastering the cosmos including topics tied to asteroid and comet defense.
  2. System and construction design solutions for launch vehicles and rocket launchers as well as mathematical software for aerospace solutions.
  3. Piloted space flights and space vehicles, technical and software solutions for piloted cosmonautics.
  4. The dynamics of flight, ballistics, navigation, and systems for controlling aerospace technology (the applied part, the effect of flight on the system, correcting orbits, fighting space garbage.)
  5. System and construction design solutions for space vehicles for various purposes including small space vehicles and nano-class apparatuses.
  6. Full apparatuses for space vehicles for various purposes.
  7. System and construction design solutions for land-based aerospace infrastructure.
  8. Development of aerospace manufacturing and industrial technologies.
  9. New materials and substances for the aerospace manufacturing (composites, nanomaterials, the relationship to fuel and additives, coatings).
  10. Space applications and the use of aerospace results.
  11. Systemic and economic research in aerospace.
  12. Innovative directions of development and projects in aerospace manufacturing.
