Equipment Arsenal Expands at the SUSU ISTiS Research Center

The arsenal of equipment at the Institute of Sport, Tourism and Service’s Center of Sports Science at SUSU has considerably expanded. Outfitting the Center with devices like electromyographs, high-accuracy thermal imaging cameras, and 3D printers will allow for scientific investigation at a new level of quality.

“Using an electromyograph allows for study of the electrical activity of muscles to correct the training process or for rehabilitation,” says assistant professor of the Department of Theories and Methods of Physical Culture and Sport, employee at the Center of Sports Science, Vitaliy Epishev, “Using thermal imaging cameras allows for more accurate advance diagnostics of illnesses of the internal organs or microtraumas of the muscles and joints; and with the help of a 3D printer we can make the center’s scientific developments, like rehabilitation devices, into prototypes significantly faster and implement them in real life.”

The research work at ISTiS allows for non-stop improvement of the educational process using fundamental and applied research in existing training areas and the introduction of the results of completed research into academics.
