SUSU archeologists took part in the North archeological Congress

The 4th North archeological Congress took place from 19 to 23 of October in Khanty-Mansyisk. It is one of the biggest scientific events in Russia, devoted to archeological heritage research and preservation.

180 leading scientists from across the country and from several states in Asia, Europe and America took part in proceeding of the International Forum. Research area covered large number of archeological issues of Noth of Eurasia from the Stone Age to recent times.  The officers of Scientific and Educational Center for Eurasian Studies - Doctor of Historical Sciences A.V. Epimakhov, - Doctor of Historical Sciences V.S. Mosin, Ph.D. of Historical Sciences N.A. Berseneva presented the result of their research. They made reports, caused  hot discussion of the colleagues,  in workshops “Worlds of culture in the North of Eurasia in the Bronze Age and in the early Iron Age” and “Archeological cultures of the North in the end of the Stone Age: development and transformation vectors”. The participants of the Congress came to a number of important decisions, which determine the priorities in the monuments protection sphere, in archeology development and allied subjects. The importance of translational research, allowing to set and solve brand new tasks in investigation of the Past, was mentioned.

Forum participants got a chance to explore the museums and landmarks of Khanty-Mansyisk: the Museum of Nature and Human being, the park of ancient animals and human beings “Archeopark”, the unique location of Paleolithic “Lugovskoye”.
