Young scientists of Applied Biotechnology Department of Trade and Economic Faculty became winners of scientific and innovative competition

 
On the 9th of November Vladimir Bogan, Head of Biotechnology Laboratory, and Aleksandra Soloveva, postgraduate of Applied Biotechnology Department of Trade and Economic Faculty were announced to be the winners of young scientists' competition of innovative sci-tech projects (U.M.N.I.K.) with their works in the sphere of biotechnologies within the framework of Regional Sci-Tech Conference "Young people. Science. Innovations - 2012".
 
The scientific research of Vladimir Bogan is dedicated to developing the method of rapid determination of nitrates and salt of heavy metals in food products. The unique character of this method is in the quick results of measuring the content of nitrates, salt of lead, cadmium, copper and other metals as per the concentration of hydronium in fruit liquid. Such a victory will allow the young scientist to continue his further scientific researches to create the device of rapid analyzer which can give a possibility to the manufactoring, refining and trade companies to carry out the quality control.
 
The research work of Aleksandra Soloveva is dedicated to developing of new type of meat products, particularly, uncooked smoked sausage from poultry meat. This research the jury considered to be the best among innovative projects of 2012 in section BIOTECHNOLOGY. The technology for production of meat delicacy created by Aleksandra is unique and does not have any analogues at Chelyabinsk market. At the present time there is no any regional enterprise which produce the uncooked smoked sausages from poultry meat. The experts of the competition managed to taste the newly developed bioproduct. The victory in U.M.N.I.K. competition will help Aleksandra to continue the implementation of the technology at Magnitigorsk Poultry Production Complex "SITNO". 
 
The program has been organized by Small Enterprise Assistance Fund (sci-tech sphere) and starting from 2008 it has been working regularly. The main purpose of the program is to stimulate the large-scale participation of young people in innovative activities and to detect young scientists with the help of organizational and finance support of their projects and development works. In competition 2012 among 16 finalists the projects of Aleksandra Soloveva and Vladimir Bogan were considered to be the most promising and interesting. 
 
We congratulate Aleksandra and Vladimir with the successful presentation of their projects at the conference and the victory in U.M.N.I.K.-2012 competition. We wish them good luck in further realization of their research projects!
